Yes it was! Very good race!

Best oval race (and arguably the best overall race) of the year so far, not counting the surprise ending at Indy, of course.

was sitting 'round sipping some Shiner Bock beers the other night talking with some "racing buddies" about INDYCAR and such.. it's amazing what a good dark beer will bring about in terms of "intelligent" out-of-the-box thinking OR NOT..

The track map that I saw had the fence line around the race track to the USAC area (yellow hashed lines). Prior to the late 1980’s/early 1990’s, NASCAR was still heavily rooted in the American Southeast. This had started to change by 1990, but The Split certainly heightened and accelerated it.
