• Dear Versus/NBC Sports Network: I Have An Idea For Winter

Dear Sports Programming Gods at Versus/NBC Sports Network:

You have an asset in Indy Car that is contracted until Marco Andretti is a salty veteran in that sport. Time to ramp it up. If you want appointment viewers in the Spring, Summer, and Fall, then make the Winter worth your while and sell IndyCar present and past with new programming.

Friday nights starting December 1, have a half-hour report on IndyCar (This Week in IndyCar) after the NHL game has concluded. Next, put a retrospective on an IndyCar great hosted by a current driver (example: Dario Franchitti on Jim Clark or JR Hildebrand on AJ Foyt). After that, put on a 1-hour abridged rebroadcast of a classic IndyCar event hosted by Bob Jenkins.

It is time to saturate Versus/NBC with the past, present, and future of the sport to make the casual viewer interested in IndyCar. Lord knows IMS owns thousands of hours of programming. Lord knows Randy Bernard needs to find a way to brand the current drivers while reaching into the past to borrow on that.

Make it happen and I will have no need for Christmas presents.

    Sincerely,

SEVista - a Fan Who Stares Out the Window All Winter, Looks at the Snow, and Thinks About IndyCar

Kurt Busch To Likely Attempt The 2013 Indy 500

MA seems willing to risk his chances to win for the betterment of the league. I mean, a crashed car from Busch could set back a team that has Marco in the catbird seat. I am nervous about that as a...
