• Tony George Jr. new boss of IndyCar feeder series

About three years ago, Tony George, Jr. reached out to me to discuss a ladder system to provide a way for young drivers to climb up to Indycar. At that time I owned teams in F2000, Star Mazda and Indy Lights. I initially had no interest, but Tony's enthusiasm for the project got me going, and after being out of the promotions business for almost 10 years, I jumped back in with the resurrection of the USF2000 Championship, a series I had started in 1992 and then sold in 2001. In my view, Tony George , Jr. is the main reason the Mazda Road to Indy exists today, and though he is young, he has more passion for Indycar racing than most people in the industry, and he will do well in his new duties. Most businesses benefit from young blood (most of my staff is on the young side), and Tony, along with Jason Penix, are accomplishing some really good things thus far. Give them a chance, and recognize the good things they are doing. They love this sport of Indycar racing, and to me that's more than half the battle, right?

Love of the sport of Indycar racing does not mean you will do the right things to move forward toward success.
I know it's about putting the right people in the right places, but look at his track record and then wonder what his ultimate plan is.
I'm tellin' ya, don't trust him.

      What's his track record?

You do realize this isn't the same person as founded the IRL, right?

      OOPS! My bad!

Now, let's hope he didn't inherit bad genes, like Tony did from Elmer

Kurt Busch To Likely Attempt The 2013 Indy 500

MA seems willing to risk his chances to win for the betterment of the league. I mean, a crashed car from Busch could set back a team that has Marco in the catbird seat. I am nervous about that as a...
