Springtime in Kentucky

My love and I flew to Louisville last week for some exploring. Immediately I was informed that I had NOT done the best job of planning this trip, otherwise I would have known that it was time for Thunder on the Ohio. Apparently, this event is the largest fireworks spectacular known to man---or at least members of the chamber of commerce.
"Sorry, babe, but we have places to go and things to see."
So after a restful night at a fine Louisville establishment we awoke to find that there was NO continental breakfast---she made the reservations, not I---but a buffet could be had for a bit more than free---we headed out into the world. I will not divulge the name of this fine hotel---but it rhymes with chariot.
Instead we found Lynn's Paradise---a riot of eclectic designs, decorations and minutia like sixties style table lamps and sets of folding legs jutting out from the wall and chinese lanterns and this huge white tree which towered over the dining area.
The waiting area---which was much needed---was stocked with every cheap novelty item you could imagine for sale. On top of all this---the food was excellent.
Next, we headed south for Mammoth caves...
