Any news / rumors on who is driving the C&S Motorsports car at the '500'? Unless TCGR puts somebody in the #33 car, it might be the best unassigned ride out there.

How about Marco "Checko" Greco? :p
Hard to say if it will be the "best" unassigned ride. The last two years they were running with NHR sized budgets, drivers, and engineers...
Their efforts were obviously VERY solid in 04 and 05. If they get the budget and staff, they could be good seats... but if its skin of the teeth, its hard to say.
I'm gonna guess Christian Fittipaldi. I thought he'd have Cheever's 2nd ride (and he still may) but Enge seems to be the favorite for the 52.
A little spitballing: are there rides for Brack, Moreno, Manning, Briscoe?
I'd love to see Kenny get another shot, and Moreno could land one of the vision cars... Manning and Briscoe.... does anybody have too many cars for the garage? 'Cause these fellas could sure thin out the herd.
Fittipaldi was quoted in the IndyStar as saying he has been away too long to come back to Indy. He probably has a point. He hasn't been at Indy since 1995. Don't see that happening.Quote:

I agree - Brack is done.

What he said. I could be wrong, but I think Manning was actually ahead of Dixon in the points, and for sure Briscoe when he got canned. I for one think Manning is a great personality and good driver.
That aside, does anyone know what the realtionship is like between the Chipster and Manning after he got the raw end of the deal imho.

Mario ;)  ;)
Evidence?

Assuming the list is correct - why run Mario's show twice in a row, right before the big race? Would make sense if he was coming back....
I'm betting on Tiger Woods. Dirt trackers like him are just what Indy needs.Quote:

Nope. You're all wrong. It's me. Sponsorship from Walgreens, Medtronics, and Vanderbilt Hospital. Chief Mechanic will be Dr. Mark Wathen, engineer Dr. Heather Bassett. Car will be a specially modified (a la A. J. ;) ) Dallara.
See y'all in May!

From what I wrote in my Indy 500 Entry List analysis;

C+S Motorsport...
36/36T, P/H/F, no driver specified.
From the entry list and other sources including IndyCar subscription news service TrackSideOnline; the "C" in this team is for John Cummiskey, the "S" is Mark Shambarger, I Googled both to learn more. First Shambarger, he is listed on the 2005 Indy 500 list as "Chief Mechanic" for both the #36 & #37 (note the same car number, and it is again a Panoz) of Bruno Junqueira and Sebastien Bourdais. Google wasn't so helpful about Cummiskey, who shares a name with a couple of people, one good, the other not so good. He was listed as "Chief mechanic" for Michael Andretti for the 2003 Indy 500 according to TSO. Suffice to say that this appears to be a side-door Newman Haas (or Carl Haas) entry, perhaps to get around Paul Newman's IndyCar issues, or just because the Newman Haas CCWS teams will be racing on the streets of Houston Texas on Indy poll position weekend. It also appears that in spite of unification overtures, the CCWS doesn't seem to want it's teams linked to the 500. Whether or not we will see this entry in the first week of practice, of if Junqueira, badly injured in 500 last year, but still desiring to win at Indy, will be in the car this year remains to be seen. Bourdais, very critical of the 500 last year after the race (and the cause of some of the carnage as well), but an outspoken advocate of unification, also seems to wish to return to the 500, so this could be a very solid 2nd-week effort.
