I'll tell ya folks, the boys from First Turn Productions have outdone themselves with the new release we saw tonight, "hot off the press (er, hard drive)".
If you have been enjoying the
Semi official cool old Indy car pics thread , you'll
really enjoy the motion picture version.
Tonight we enjoyed an hour-long digital compilation from fifteen or so home movies in 8mm, Super8, and 16mm formats, presented with excellent sound, narration and sequencing.
It starts off with Andy Granatelli's appearances beginning in the fifties, and then opens into a comprehensive montage of the 1969 Indianapolis victory.
Donohue as a rooke. Bud Tinglestad takes over for Al Unser, who had broken hios leg. Mike Mosely's sophomore effort. Lee Roy Yarbrough. Gurney, Ruby, Walkup, Kenyon, McCloskey, Johncock, Foyt, Clark, and Hill, in Lotuses, Brabham-Repcos, Coyote Fords, Eagles, the last of the Novis, and more.
These are home movies, but well-edited, with rich colors and detail. Really brings the days to life. Interwoven with the stats and commentary you maybe have read about but not experienced
There's just so much to see and appreciate. A real time capsule

It was even more fun watching at The Brickyard with one of Granatelli's crew members in attendance
Thanks to Brad and John for all the effort. Should be available in time for Christmas
