Heavy rain to hit Baltimore during the race

Looks like we'll have some drama today, heavy rain meeting a bad track terrain. According to the website 'Weather Channel', there is a 60% chance of rain with thunderstorms throughout the day.

I will believe it when I see it. We were supposed to get 7 inches of rain from Isaac so I cancelled my weekend plans. I'd be surprised if we've gotten half an inch so far.

If the current event tracking towards Baltimore holds together, it's going to rain for quite some time.
Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary… that's what gets you.

I was in DC last night and the storm was a lot of bark and little bite. Just arrived in Baltimore, no sign of rain yet.

Ps: I go to races, way to go "fans". I will look for you here doc. Lol.

That's what happens when you use computer models instead of weather balloons.

    Ah...things were better back then...

Rain is off to the west of Baltimore, 3 1/2 hours till the race so it'll be there when they start or after they start.

Save me a dry spot, k?

You can't believe the kind of rain we have had to stand in at thr Sebring and Daytona sportscar races. We've also been to the Rolex when it was 31 degreees and 25mph winds. Cold sucks all the way around, but rain isn't so bad as long as it's not cold on top of it.

Coming from a Florida rain veteran, all you Baltimore goers get a water proof pancho, and something to keep your head dry. If your head gets soaked you lose your body heat really fast.

A soggy race isn't as interesting as one when the rain comes and goes. Of course, since the championship could possibly be nearly decided today, I would hate to see the outcome hinge on tire strategy, or worse, someone aquaplaning off. No amount of skill can save you if you hit standing water.

Also, let's hope it's not sdo bad that we wend up with a lot of yellow or a cancellation.

Will is a monster in the rain, but I think if it goes soggy that Sato will be the big threat.

It would be great if it rained the whole race. More interesting that way.

I love a good race where there is off and on rain. However.... seems like this track has enough issues to deal with as it is. Hopefully we'll get a passing shower part way through and that will be it. Definaelty don't want heavy rain that might ground the helicopter!

knowing IndyCar they'll probably have to halt the race.....these guys just don't play well in the rain.......I remember St. Petersburg in 2008 when they ran 10 laps under yellow because there was a puddle.......I was like WTF drive around it!

+1 The weather forecasters, at least from my experience, seem to have their proverbial head up their you know what when it comes to a weather forecast.
