PitStop BBQ MOVIE NIGHT - night changed to Thursdays as of 3/14/2013

Fall is here and once again it is time to start The Old Racing Movies Night
This year we will be showing films at the Pit Stop Barbeque on Main Street in Brownsburg, IN.

It is a racing themed restaurant, with great food. There are actual vintage midgets in the main dining room and pictures and memorabilia every where. The Flag Room was unavailable this year so we found another great spot, the owners of the restaurant actually own race cars.

WHERE: Pit Stop Barbeque Main Street Brownsburg, IN
WHEN : Tuesday nights starting as of December 11, 2012
    TIME : 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm

Come on out and join us.

Will my three year old race fanatic/grandson be able to see racing movies too? (alcohol related question--making sure he can see movies from his seat)

Yes Danny, happily this facility has two rooms we show in, one with alcohol and one without, so kids are welcome. We need to start educating them on the great racing of yesterday.

Hope to see you some Thursday

That's great, Mother Duck. Really like your comment on educating the kids. Wish I was up there. Maybe in a couple of years I'll be back.

If that midget car is still sitting in the same spot as last time, I know that the same little guy will ask again and again to sit in the seat.

Same spot but different car. This is one from Dreyer's collection

The little guy would put plenty of miles in sitting in the seat !

See? You ARE a photographer. I need to show that to Grandma.

Barb, I think you might have seen this character either Friday or Saturday night. Like you, he was there both nights.

Think we will open up our Fall Showing with a film on the roadster era at Indianapolis. Love that time, the style, the color schemes, the names. It was interesting when the cars had as much personality as the men who drove them. They had names and we could follow their lineage.

Stop on by we start at 7:00 and end at 9:00.

I can't make it tonight but I wish I could.

    Have fun!

    Will be showing some Indy's,
definitely be showing 1997 one of Ari's wins in memory of his engineer Tim Wardrop who passed away this past week.
Tim was one of our regular movie night viewers in the Flag Room/Dawson days. He will never be forgotten, he was such a unique
    individual, and a talented engineer.

    Show starts at 7:00 pm
    Checker drops at 9:00 pm

I am truly sorry to hear of Tim's passing! I have gotten to know Tim the last few years and he was a fine man and a very good racing engineer.
    Have a very blessed day!

Starting December 11 we are going back to Tuesday Nights at the Pit Stop Restaurant. Lot less going on, on Tuesday nights. Stop by and join our group, movies, conversation and good food all add up to a good time.

Movies start at 7:00 pm and end by 8:30

This week we will be showing the mid-60's Wallen film along with a short subject.
The Pit Stop is undergoing some renovations, so you will have to pardon the dust.

This week we are showing movies on THURSDAY March 14.

The next few weeks the Pit Stop has karoke on Tuesday nights so we are moving over to Thursdays for a little while.

Come on out and help us celebrate Bill Simpson's birthday this week.

March Madness is taking over Indiana for the next few weeks, so we will not be showing movies while the tournament is running. Which is three weeks.

Next movie night will be Thursday April 11th.

We will be showing a new film from First Turn Productions called "The Golden Era to War Indianapolis 1925-1941" This has some great early footage at Indy in color.

So put it on your calender to come out and visit the newly redecorated and enlarged Pit Stop Lounge April 11th.

Good company, good food and great movies.

Green flag drops at 7:00 Checker falls at 9:00 pm

I was at the Pit Stop Wednesday night for the family buffet and the waitress told us there would be no more movie nights due to poor participation. Is this true?
I've not been to a movie night yet but we were planning on attending some before and during May.

She was WRONG, we were not showing movies as stated in another post during MARCH MADNESS. They were running specials for Basketball tourney.
We will back showing movies this coming Thursday APRIL 11, just as posted above.

Sorry you got bad info, but it seems in today's world, people speak whether they no what they are saying or not.

Hope to see you soon at the movies.

ONE NOTE TO ALL: The room we show the movies in is now a full bar, so no minors allowed.

I figured she was wrong! Thanks for your prompt response.
I hope to make it out there before May.
The food is excellent, especially the brisket sandwiches!

Mother Duck, I want to apologize for not being there last night when I told you I would be. I had a small family emergency that had to be handled. I hope everyone enjoyed the DVD.

    Thanks,

Brad we really enjoyed the DVD. You guys just keep getting better and better at your productions. I would encourage everyone to get this DVD if you are interested in early days at IMS. Lots of interesting footage.
