    KFC Couchgating logo

Did anyone else notice the new KFC logo called Couchgating? I think it is new for the NFL playoffs it is a clear knockoff of the Indycar logo? Just search KFC Couchgating logo to see it.

Yep, I've seen it and made that same remark to my girl. It's the angle of the couch that does it.

Yes, clearly they copied the IRL logo which was so very original.

There are some things that won't ever cross my mind until someone makes a post about it somewhere on the internet.

We might see a different result in this iteration of the thread though...

I can only speak for myself. I'll ask my therapist again tomorrow. I think I know the answer but I need to check again.

Colors are similar in all logos but you generally can't copyright colors. The two images most similar, and unaffiliated, are Indycar and KFC.

I find it interesting and worthy of discussion. If you don't then read a different post.

I think IndyCar needs to redesign their logo to incorporate more party pong references. They did a good job ripping off their logo from the standard "National _______ League" template, but if they mixed in a couch in the back of a pickup truck with drunk shirtless people playing party pong while watching a race, they may attract a new demographic that typically only shows up for Indy.

Thanks for saving me the time. The IRL logo had to be one of the weakest efforts of all time...just a copy of what was already out there.

Yep. And part of the ill-conceived notion of getting into the stick and ball mainstream consciousness by use of the word "League" (along with that us-too logo).

    It's a racing series. It's not a league.

Spike once again for the win!

Some here might prefer the couch, the narrow legs and boxy design should require lifting into the corners.

As an aside, who the hell eats fried chicken on a couch? There's not enough Scotch Guard in the world. Even if you go old school and wrap the couch in plastic, you're still in for a disgusting mess.

You would never be able to sit on your couch upright again...

You bring up a good point, I was thinking I would be fine with a leather couch, but then you had to go and think about it

Good point about Indycar perhaps copying others first. That's a factor.

Note that the Indycar logo remains roughly the same as the old IRL logo except for color change from blue to black.

KFC Couchgating Logo vs Indycar Logo - Copyright Infringement?

Has anyone else looked at the new logo for Kentucky Fried Chicken's couchgating promotion and thought, "Hmmm. I should race down to KFC."

I thought, in order to not infringe on another's copyrighted logo, you need to make 7 clear and distinct changes.

Not really. The NBA logo doesn't look very much like the Indycar logo.

Just sayin that the KFC couchgating logo looks like an indycar tilted with the same colors as Indycar's logo. The couch feet look like wheels too. Thought it was funny.

OK Thanks Spike. Before I posted this I did a search for "KFC" above and the site brought back nothing so I thought I was being original. But I guess I was crispy. Ha! ........Stupid! Stupid!
