    Amelia Earhart is still missing

And Ric Gillespie is making more ridiculous claims about his detective work. This guy has been running an Earhart based scam for decades through his "charitable organization" called TIGHAR.

Every few years he rachets up the BS and raises enough money for a south seas vacation, which is ostensibly a search for Earhart's plane and her remains. Somehow he keeps finding people that throw money at him.

This time around he has said Earhart's plane "disappeared from radar" and contact was lost. To the best of my knowledge there was no such thing as shipborne radar in 1937. Just a few experimental sets existed at the time, and those were shrouded in secrecy during the run-up to WWII.

Gillespie is a con artist, it's amazing people still listen to his nonsense.

Yes he is...but he is cashing in on the stupidity of others. I would question the brain dead more than him for they are the problem. He simply feeds off them.

Meanwhile he saps away donations that could do some good elsewhere and gives legitimate aviation historians and restorers a black eye every time he opens his ******* charlatan yap.

But Amelia, from what I have noticed anyway, is becoming a popular name.

We are, if nothing else, a country entranced by grassy knolls, conspiracies and worse yet, "reality TV" It really should not come as any surprise that a real mystery captures are interest.

There is a difference between a reasonable conspiracy hypothesis and ridiculous claims. Not all alleged conspiracies are created equal and not all are untrue just because some are.

True but that condition hasn't changed in quite awhile, thus the term stable would be accurate.
