That's not a question and he's not the Roswell Alien.

I know, but I'm talking others not here, discredited or not. Guess none of us will ever know.

I'm gonna have to side with Davydd on Amelia's abilities over Sea Fury's opinion since Davydd use to date her.

I think we're mixing up "overrated" with "mediocre". Someone who is a 7 on a 1-10 scale who is talked about like a 9 or 10 is overrated, but not mediocre.

Everything I've read about AE (and I used to work at an air museum) would indicate that on a scale of 1-10, she might have been more of a 4 or 5 at most when it came to measuring piloting skill, not a 7 or so.

She was a very colorful personality, a gifted public relations person, and she was devoted to aviation. But she simply wasn't a very good pilot.

The NYT would still not refer to her as "Amelia Earhart" to this day, but they would condescend to "Ms. Earhart".

It's fun to believe on coverups and conspiracies and such, but sometimes things just go wrong. Especially in aviation, and especially in aviation back then.

    Sea Fury is quite correct.

During WWII, dozens of Navy and Air Corps aircraft disappeared in the Pacific, quite a few of them having trained navigators on board. These men were eminently more qualified than Fred Noonan.

Good for her, the more I read about her the more I like her.

Yeah, seems like a reasonable request.
