Crean should avoid coaching in the Big 12 as much as possible.

If you think IU's fans are unreasonable...

Really? Okie St. really cares? They paid Underwood under a million this year.

I was talking about Big 12 fans. Not their boosters...

His wife would likely be very happy there, close to her brother and sister-and-law.

Patrick Ewing would be a disaster, just like Chris Mullin is at St. Johns. Who wants to fire one of your school's biggest stars and legends?
And B-town is a big city?

Patrick Ewing will sell season tickets. Crean won't.

IU is as much about Indianapolis as it is Bloomington.

And Crean seemed more at home when he was in Milwaukee.

Patrick Ewing likely couldn't coach a D-League team; let alone a Big East team. He won't sell any tickets when they are 10-23.

So Alford says he is "100% not going to Indiana".

    Who's next on the list?

That's okay... Indiana wants somebody who can beat Kentucky.

Not saying things well change, but ask the Lobos if we should take Alford at his word....

TD, didn't you say you were on an IU basketball message group? I'm curious as to who is the guy those fans would like to see take the coaching job.

Well heck a Crean led Indiana beat Kansas and North Carolina in December... We need somebody that can beat those teams in march.

Most of the posts were simply anti-Alford. I'm sure you've seen the like before though. Every single topic would eventually lead to some anti-Alford comments. Not sure there were that many people or if it was the same people vomiting on every thread.

After that it was probably Donovan ,Bennett, the guy from Wichita State, Sean Miller, Dane Fife, and Archie Miller in that order.

Cream should avoid coaching anywhere. If you can't make it with the most corrupt boosters in yo pocket you can't make it anywhere.

I'm tickled with the Archie Miller, if I had a preference it was for a type not a name per say... The type of coach that had elevated a smaller program, a young guy who showed promise... You know the type... One that took a school not on the national basketball scene and did wonders, like elevating one of the military academies before coming to Indiana.

Although 24 wins and invites 4 years in a row Dayton was on the scene.

I knew nothing about him until today, but what I've learned about him makes me think he is a good choice.

And his wife is total smokeshow!!!

What I've seen from his teams at Dayton are that they are hard-nosed but are normally painful to watch on the offensive end. "Grinding" comes to mind.

Dayton's teams have reminded me of some of the old Big East teams, from about 15 years ago. And that's not a good thing if you like to watch entertaining basketball.

And some won't like to hear this... but you can make a very strong argument that IU's coaching hires continue to trend downward as far as accomplishment before they got to Bloomington.

As for Gregg Doyel, when hasn't he liked a move that either the Colts, Pacers, Butler, IU or Purdue make?

I don't know... Before today Doyel was the one I had never heard of.

Crean could fit in at tOSU. I think their hypocrisy only goes as far as the football program though.

Maybe he has not changed, but then again, in this day and age, I don't think he is a HC in Div 1 if he hasn't..
I think Archie Miller is a good hire, but damn, I really like Frank Martin and he is def not Bob Knight light.. loved his post game comments.. would have loved to see him at IU

    LOL.

We all need you to "manage" our expectations.

Nobody doubted Miller's ability to coach. The only doubts I heard were about his ability to recruit to IU.

As to the last part of your comment....bizarre as usual.
