And the Ohio State game I was at was "in the state." But yeah, I've also ventured to that cesspool known as Columbus and I can assure you they are a lot more obnoxious than Hoosier fans--in basketball, football and now it seems wrestling.

Can't help but wonder if you attended a game with the opponent's gear on (nothing wrong with that), but if you went in with an attitude, I can certainly see some IU fans dishing it out to you--hence your dislike for some. I've never had a major problem at IU with Hoosier fans--and I always wear my Iowa gear. Yeah, some good-ribbing from the frat boys who said the Hawks (who were unbeaten in the regular season) would go down, but nothing big. Same goes for the two dudes who were cursing the Hawks after the win and saying the Hawks suck. Scoreboard. But except for those two poor sports, IU fans were great.

Ditto basketball. Good fans in my experience and passionate.

Obviously your experience differed. And yes, Ohio State fans are a lot more obnoxious in any sport. My opinion, my experience.

I thought you and I were friends.

    But those are shots fired.

And Alford has plucked Kris Wilkes who is probably going to be Mr. Basketball next year.
I wouldn't send a kid to Crean today and I like him. Who wants to go to that toxic environment?

Kids wouldn't tolerate Knight's style late in his IU career.

    "Devalue" Assembly Hall?

Fred needs to get a grip. His basketball programs are helping "devalue" his storied (I guess) arena. His men's team has been much more mediocre then its been upper crust for about 15 years now. And his women's team is 50 games under .500 in Big 10 play since he became AD.

Fred's backside is going to be on the line soon. The football program is about fall off the map again (the Tom Allen hire will prove to be a huge fumble, and they didn't even open the thing up which is even more laughable. If Allen should be a head coach anywhere in college football it should be the MAC) and the inevitable parting with Crean (which likely will happen after next year it appears) will mean he'll have to go find a replacement. If he's given the chance to make that hire.

Really? Look, you can dog-pile on IU all you want but Assembly Hall is one of the best known and most iconic college baskeball arenas in the world.

The ladies team had the right guy until he resigned mysteriously.

The football team had the right guy until he died of cancer.

And you are selling Allen short. He's a helluva DC and the players' opinion of him has been proven by the lack of players leaving. Wilson was an *******. IU upgraded the football program with Allen. And face it...no established head coach is going to IU.

That is kind of you my friend, but I am a huge tOSU fan

I used to live about 2 miles away from the 'Shoe during my 8 years in beautiful Columbus (well, Grandview Heights), Ohio.

    What he said! ^

And I have a little inside info, very little, but some, from what I have heard, I think IU is going to be well served by Allen as HC. Players will play hard for him I think....

I have a good friend who is an Ohio State Alum and he gets along with everybody... Other than his habitual over-emphasis of the word "the" he doesn't appear to be any more narcissistic than anyone else.

    They have to. Right?

If so, then who? Surely a HC not in the tourney, right?

You will only know that as teams get eliminated...could be a long wait if UCLA goes all the way

If Brad Stevens was still current HC of Butler, then I'd be worried. I just don't see IU seriously looking @ Holtmann unless the names above him start saying no. I'd venture to say he isn't a top 5 candidate.

Me thinks: Alford, Gregg Marshall, Donovan, Tony Bennett and Archie Miller are the top 5 (in no particular order).

    Okay.

And he will have two more years of Lavar Ball.

He would own the state of Indiana if he returned.

There was one distinct reason he didn't get the job BEFORE Davis.

LaVar Ball would be the biggest reason I would run, not walk away from UCLA. I don't care how talented his one and done X3 kids are, He has gone off the rails IMHO

Mike Davis was in a no win situation, After the Knight debacle, IU was lucky to have him

Agreed, and I think people will eventually appreciate Crean for bringing IU back from a really terrible spot. He came to the school when few other good candidates would consider it. That said, it was time for him to go a few years ago.
I don't have a profile because I think profiling is wrong.

We will just have to agree to disagree on that one.
