But, it's made for interesting discussions.
Still a hot topic every day in the tour.
That decision ticked off a lot of folks & then was followed up with penalizing Bouhanni, one, yes one minute for aggressive riding after slapping one rider and taking a swing at another.
Of course a minute in the GC is meaningless to a noncontender. Oh, and a small fine.

I've missed the discussions and would have been livid to learn that somebody was swinging at people and was fined a minute after Sagan was kicked out for trying to keep his balance after being rammed by somebody from behind.

I'm hoping that Sagan sues the UCI... Has there been any talk of that... Has Sagan been interviewed since leaving the tour?

Sucked for Bodnar. Led from the start to the last 500m.

And shame on Pau. To put a McDonald's at the 5km mark. How dare they!
    It's a Hoosier thing, you wouldn't understand...

LeMond's take on the state of the Tour today:

    https://sports.yahoo.com/cycling-rid...7871--spt.html

Froome and some others believe the unwritten rules of the peloton stipulate that you don't attack the yellow jersey if he is not in capacity to respond.

LeMond, as well as several other former riders, strongly disagree.

"There should never be an unwritten rule that you should stop. Sponsors are paying millions of dollars to get performances," LeMond, on the Tour as an analyst for Eurosport, said in a daily chat with Reuters.

"If you're riding along at 40kph and you see the yellow jersey stops to urinate you don't attack, if he crashes and you're not racing fast, you don't attack.

"If the race is on, it does not matter what happens to the yellow jersey, he's got a team and that's what a team is for," added the American, who won the Tour in 1986, 1989 and 1990.

Froome's team did the work yesterday but this time he could not answer the call.
Today will not finish at the top of the last climb, it will be interesting if they can put him back in yellow.
I am not sure that Aru's team can match Sky.
Bastile Day, the fans on the road will be cranked.

Froome back in yellow, why has Aru lost him?

Because Astana raced like a Cat 5 team. They were awful.

    Interesting tidbit:
SKY has the GC bookended. Froome in yellow and Luke Rowe is lantern rouge.

My wife was watching stage 15 live... she said there was a naked man amongst the spectators (needless to say he was cut out of the reshowings)

Mooning guy has been at a couple of stages. I'm thinking gendarmes should be equipped with cattle prods.

Marcel Kittel abandons the Tour de France. He crashed at km 20.

Just when the green jersey was getting very interesting. Oh well, Greipel has a good chance in Paris, now.

This descent of the Col du Galibier is making my stomach hurt. The speed they are taking through these corners with absolutely no fencing or guard rails is terrifying.

    Today showdown at the Izoard.

Very very good race this year. For not being as strong this year, SKY sure kicked the hell out of everyone.

Luke Rowe is solidly in the lantern rouge giving SKY the rare bookend.

One thing that sort of annoys my wife and I about the TV coverage, with all the info they display on the screen, there's a few items that they rarely display in real time that we'd like to see: speed, elevation and grade.

The Running Of The Bulldogs commercial is still bringing chuckles and a smile every single time I see it.

Yeah, even when I fast forward.

And there was another McDonald's on yesterday's stage (about 133km to go). Damn those French! Damn them to Hell!

It was funny yesterday, one of the motorcycles was following a rider up the climb when a big guy started running alongside the rider. This time though the motorcycle driver gave the runner nudge with his hand and down the big fella went.

It's no newsflash to you veteran tour followers but the time trial Saturday is BIG this year with the top 3 so close on time.

Too bad the power came back on. Listening to Robbie McEwen call the last few KMs would have been nice.

I looked at the time trial stage, it's only 22+ kilometers.
Not much length to gain or lose as much time as I earlier thought, I assumed it would be about twice the distance.

My guess is that Uran will jump Bardet into second but that will be the extent of the GC moves from the TT. Froome will extend his lead unless disaster strikes.

I believe that was a cop that did that.

Enjoyed the Tour as usual, but now looking forward to my favorite GT, the Vuelta.
