Great to see that the 2002 Indy 500 winner will continue to be an NBC Indycar announcer. He's by far my favorite Indycar announcer.

Helio is a cool guy, but he is not part of the announcing team.

Oh no.... Years ago I was lucky enough to get a tour of the Andretti shop and there was a poster with Indy 500 winners and it clearly showed that PT won in 2002. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

He wasn't hacked, but I suppose he's not spouting any more BS than usual. On the plus side we get to look forward to another year of him chanting Pruett Fade when a flag so much as flutters in the breeze.

I have to admit, at first I thought he wasn't hacked, then I thought, give him the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure Twitter accounts are hacked all the time, so why do you think this couldn't happen to PT?

Seemed to have some specific knowledge that only Tracy would have. If it wasn't him, he likely knows who it was.

He cracks me up everytime he talks about a Pruett fade. I keep on waiting to see a pre-race segment of him explaining (with video evidence) what exactly a Scott Pruett fade is.

He wasn't hacked, but it was an idiotic thing to do in public. Could easily have been fired with cause.

Listening to the latest Marshall Pruett podcast (432), I don’t think you’d convince Marshall that Tracy didn’t write the comment. Paraphrasing, Marshall said he has heard Tracy say things and said Tracy had a dark racist side.

Yep. I expect NBC is keeping a close eye on PT's social media stuff and if he does something again, we may be seeing Allmendinger take his place in the booth.

NBC will bring AJ onto the Indycar coverage mid-season where he'll totally outclass PT, then he'll leave before the season is over for a role on the NASCAR broadcasts.

I was able to see PT's FB before I quit social media. Hopefully he learnt his lesson, because he is the best thing to happen to the booth since Uncle Bobby and Sam went toe to toe, week in and week out.

Agreed, he's excellent in the booth. Would hate to lose him from the broadcast over some very ill-advised social media comments.

Another year of Paul Tracy making obviously incorrect comments at least once per race.

As I've said before, this is not Paul's fault. It's because they have three people doing the broadcast, and all three of them feel that they have to be talking every single second throughout the race. If hockey (another fast moving sport) broadcasts work well with just two people, why can't racing have just two people doing the broadcasts?

    THIS!

Watch a NASCAR race and there is barely a moments silence during a broadcast.

There are times when the picture on the screen just tells the story.

STFU and let the story tell itself

That's something I always thought Paul Page was very good at. Often he would say "Let's just sit back and watch the fight." There needs to be more of that in the broadcast booth.

Do we REALLY need to know the gap closed by .218 seconds when it's visibly obvious that driver B is closing fast on driver A?
