First 500: 2007
Age: 21
Seats: SW Vista
Every 500 since...all 3 of them![]()
I'm also going to St. Pete this year
family grew up kind of poor early on. I went to pole day/bumpday a lot when I was really really little. According to my parents I saw AJ's last lap. Went to my first race in 97. Well . . . I saw my first 30 laps of the race in 97, then the rain came and I had to go to school and listen to the rest of the race on the radio. I was 11. Went again the next year when Cheever won. Didn't make it back until 05 when the radio station at my college scored 2 press passes. Got to watch from the nice air conditioned media room that year. We didn't get the passes again the next year so I watched from turn 4, saw Hornish make the pass right there. Every year since then has been from the south vista. so overall . . .
First 500: 1997
Age: 11

Godspeed All - LET's GO RACING!!!!
Attended my first 500 in 1981. Missed a few years. Was there the year Little Al and Emo got together.
Haven't missed one since 1996.
1986. Nothing quite as disappointing as sitting in the rain on your first trip to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from out of state.
Been to the past 14 in a row.
First: 1970
Age: 8 yrs.
Since: 19 1970-1989
I'm disabled and living in another state so getting to another 500 would be very difficult.....I sure do miss it though![]()
First 1969, missed 1978 (could not get out of school for the length of time my dad was heading down) and 1993 (son born a few days before the race)
I missed 1978, would have liked to have been there, but 1993 was worth missing in that it gave me my new racing buddy (dad has retired from going) and my son is on his own streak since 2000, plus that whole Emmo and the orange juice thing.....![]()
!!! Bump for the month of may !!!
First 1967
Age 9

My 50th race shold be Indy's 100th 500. I look forward to being able to say I have seen half of the Indianapolis 500's.

Born in Seattle, lived in Sacramento area since I was 7. Started listening to the 500 on the radio when I was about 11 or 12, plus watched the delayed telecast. Had dreams of attending the race, but thought they were just that - dreams. A friend of mine now lives in Illinois, and I finally realized it could be reality instead of a dream. Floated the idea of going with him in 2005. We decided to go that year. When we got to our seats that day (low in Paddock), the feeling was almost indescribable - I couldn't believe I was actually there at THE GREATEST SPECTACLE IN RACING.
First 1976 at age 5. Missed 1977. Every one since

First one was in 1960 and have not missed one since. So this will be my 51st consecutive 500.![]()
First: 1975 (age 11)
Attended every year since, except 2006.
2010 will be my 35th out of 36.
(Although I've made 36 trips for the race, if you count the two trips in '86 due to the rainout...)
First: 1985 (age 5)
Total 500's: 2010 will be my 14th 500
Consecutive 500's: 2010 will be my 12th consecutive 500 (11th consecutive in the NE Vista)
This will be my 50th consecutive 500
First race in 1961 and haven't missed one since.
I've been to most qualifications, practice days and test sessions since the early eighties.
First Indianapolis 500 in 1956 at age 12.
I've seen them all since and I will be attending my 55th consecutive Indianapolis 500 on May 30th, the Good Lord willin'!

Been to a bunch since.
First: 2007
Age: 20

Been to pretty much every pole day since I was 10, 3 years ago my dad started giving me a ticket in his seats that he's had since I was born.
1969............. Since then I have NEVER and I mean NEVER sat in the same seat twice.... NO one could name a part of the course that I have not sat in since then. Only the timing and scoring room or The penthouse atop the Pagoda. Other than that I have sat there. I have preached this for years people...... Dont sit in the same seats every year.... Please... It is like going to a golf course and only playing One Hole over and over again........You have to see the whole course..... The lady will guide you as you aproach.... listen to her and let her lead the way my son.... Again I have sat in over 35 different seats over the years and Loved every one of them....... Where will I sit this year???? I will let you know just before the green flag drops.... Until then ...Go getem openwheelers......
first 2008 (and watching Vitor's pass that year got me into indycar)
age 20
total: 2
I wont be going this year sadly...My friends I usually go with arent going and I have no money. Its a huge bummer. I look forward to the Indy 500 more than christmas or my birthday.
My first was in 1987 and have only missed one since (1999). May 30th will be number 23. There is no place else on the planet that I would rather be on Memorial Day weekend than the corner of 16th and Georgetown.
1st in '59 at the ripe old age of 3. 51 in a row after this year. It's hard to believe that I've seen over half of the 500's run and up until '08 all of those years included the 1st w/end of time trials and a few bump days back when that had some meaning, I may go back for them this year, Sat. weather permitting but in all reality that has become a big yawn, at least for me.
