I think I hear Celine Dion singing that song as the bow thrusts upward and the ship sinks into an icy grave. We don't have any big icebergs here in Central Indiana but it's Titanic time for Champ Car.

Is the IRL some super series with big benefits, strong leadership and a bright future? Only when compared to Champ Car.

I get the impression that KK will sleep well tonight, enjoy his weekend and not make too many calls concerning his part-time hobby being in a flux. I have no doubt that he has a contingency plan for LB and Cosworth.

Mack's post was clear and direct and for those of us that did read Miller's article, we understood the point RM made with the "500" reference. Mack has made a clear point, too. He's right.The bottom line is that their current business model cannot succeed. They pay to be on television, they promote and own races, they have no identity in the U.S. media, they have no sponsorship to speak of, they don't have the Indianapolis 500, they must fund other teams and they have no game plan (oh yeah, they're going after that Far East market, I forgot).

Except the part where he claimed RM said the ICS is blessed with "strong management". He didn't, he quite clearly said the opposite.
And I don't recall RM ever having said the Indy 500 wasn't a big asset for the IRL.
But other than that, yeah, spot on.

Mackie, I know what you mean. But I found that everything he said about ChampCar in the piece was correct. And it is said because its former shell (CART) was all something we as fans watched when it was the Indy Car series.
Very sad what is going on over there, but, business is business.

You're right, Miller correctly pointed out before that CC is so ridiculously inept that they should have sold off to TG and stopped being ridiculous. That was last year, wasn't it? Too bad that they didn't get the message. Now, that is being "spot on."But other than that, yeah, spot on.

The day OWRS set out on it's trip, one journalist called it "stupid money". I don't remember who it was. But it did not take an IVY League observation to know that Otte made a wrong ruling and KK and GF were heading into battle with Custer.
TG said on that very day the cliche, "be careful what you wish for, you might just get it". Now even TG is sounding profound today.
