Actually, I just upgraded it at the first of the year.

    I have a 2003 model year Dell Dimension, it's has a P4 processor, 1 Gig of RAM and a 256MB video card.

I can run pretty much all of the games, NR2003, F1 2002, etc., but rFactor just runs dog slow on my PC, choppy video, etc.

I can, and do, run the 2007 IndyCar Mod for NR2003 that you did. I couldn't even run that before I upgraded.

So that will have to do for now.

I'm waiting the check uncle George is sending us, then I'm buying an new PC. What can a dummy like me buy off the shelf that'll play this game?

If my plan works, there will be an Xbox 360 up for sale.

This is awesome, great job! Where do you put the fix file for the shiney tires? I didn't see a text file with instructions.

I never thought of it that way.

As far as price range, around a grand, just looking for the CPU thingie, I'll get a monitor and already have the wheel.

Anyone doing a league for this mod yet?

Mike- mod is amazing...i got going at Indy pretty good...

    great job
No where in your rambling incoherent response did you come close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. We are all dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

I would be all for setting up a Track Forum league if anybody knows anything about or has the bandwidth and ability to host.

I'd love to race with you guys

    Alienware PC

Well, as always, a new release inspires creativity. A new addition to my stable of Red Bull cars.

Anything relatively new and not rock-bottom cheap will do. My Core2Duo E4500, 3 GB RAM, ATI X1950 XTX machine runs rFactor (except for the newest F1 2008 mod- that thing is a pig) with full detail, full fields, at 1680x1050 with no trouble at all. I rarely see under 60 fps. rFactor isn't that system-taxing, honestly.

I'd be willing to help set something up. There's some good scoring and recordkeeping software around, and hosting isn't really that bad on bandwidth- but I do agree with the rent a server idea.

So how do we go about finding all the interest in starting a league?

We will need to get a track pack together so everybody has the same tracks (i mod most my gdb's so i'd have to reinstall the tracks anyways)

I encourage the use of league paints as well.

But i'm all for renting a server and getting a Track Forum League going.

    Nice paint S. Moore.

How do you do your renders?

I'd like to do that with my most current paints

As far as tracks- I currently have a 2008 schedule made, including Long Beach, Surfer's, and Edmonton. The only missing tracks are Motegi and Kentucky, which I replaced with Gateway and Vegas. So all the tracks are out there, nearly.

That's not a render, that's just a shot from the in-game spinner taken with FRAPS. I agree with the league paints- but can live either way. Maybe we can get CUC or someone to put a sticky in the main forum about the mod and league? I don't know how many people visit here.

Not just yet. I have a few things to finish up on that one, but once I do I'll make it available somewhere. Either rFactor Central or at a private site.

Huh? Dude, I'm a console gamer, I played NR2003 until I figured out my Gateway couldn't handle it, then went back to my Xbox 360. What can I get cheap and off the shelf that'll allow me to get smoked on the track by you guys?

Also, are we gonna be able to talk to each other through the game or are we gonna be using teamspeak (or something similar)?

Just as an off the shelf box, somehting like this http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1186003685992 would do rFactor just fine. You can go cheaper (and I'm not saying that brand or store is best, not by any means) but if you do the first two things they usually ge skimpy on is the graphics card and power supply, both of which are critical bits. Something along those specs, though, would be more than enough.

As far as Teamspeak or something- anyone would be welcome to use that, but I'm not a fan at all. I think a little text chat in practice is fine, and some autochat messages for entering and exiting the pits is good, but I don't see any need to have chatting capability during a race or qualifying. It takes all the focus I have just driving

OK, if anyone wanted it, the Red Bull car is up for download here: http://www.mediafire.com/?ybxyda6cmx5
    and also at rFactor Central.
The usual request to respect the work of others and all that apply. Enjoy!

    A question from the uninformed.

How do I import this into the game to use as "my" car?
