Short musical performance on the front straight before the race
Introduction of Drivers
Driving the drivers around the track in pickup trucks
The playing of "Proud to be an American"
The singing of "America the Beautiful"
"The number of threads by one poster in the OT is getting a little out of hand, IMHO. "
"In the land of freedom we are held hostage by the tyranny of political correctness...If we speak..we say it the wrong way; if we do not speak we are cowards…."
If you're refering to at the track, usually some suds and food, some eye candy and some racing thrown in for good measure.
And some of the Junior Nation to make fun of.
My Band's website!!!!
none of the above is essential to my enjoyment of a race.
although not having a nice rendition of the national anthem would leave something lacking, imo.
I agree. And I usually enjoy having a good flyover since a NASCAR race is one of the few events big enough to draw one.Originally Posted by 9rows
I just need seats with butt room and leg room and for everyone in front of me to sit the eff down so I don't have to get up. Also put food and beer and a urinal in and under the seat so I don't have to get up 20 times a race to let others out of the row.
PS. The seats on the fronstretch at PIR suck. When is that track going to spend some $$ and upgrade them?
Minimized meddling from the sanctioning body enhances the experience substantially, IMO.
Both legs broken and nothing else on TV.
After California I agree with this as my number 1 need.Originally Posted by Hilltopper

I put "Other". If they want me to put in the +12 hours it takes to go to a race track I want support races on the same day! All that other stuff isn't racing.
All I need is plenty of H20 and my scanner !!
Go Dario, Dixon and Vitor!!! .42 JPM.
Drunks yelling "show us your boobs" to every identifiable female walking past works for me.

Gimme a break. How about wanting to watch a bunch of hard headed, take no prisoners drivers goin' as hard as they can to pass whatever's in front of them.
In other words, a real car race.
I voted other. To me it is much more important to see open wheel cars. NASCAR is OK for a change of pace, but IMHO a real oval racing experience requires the cars to have open wheels. Midgets, Sprints, Indy Cars are all preferable to Tin Tops.

That's all I need. I've enjoyed every race I've ever attended except for the darn rain-outs. And one major bummer one when someone was killed. Fortunately almost every race I've seen live had no injuries.Originally Posted by Hilltopper
Of the choices listed in the poll. I dunno. The anthem of course. America the Beautiful. Jets.
Screaming fans. Sunshine, haltertops, short shorts on the ladies(except the spandex ones on the big ladies)...
