    The Movie "Grand Prix"

    I learned something new while watching "Grand Prix" on TCM last night. James Garner was the 3rd choice for the lead role, behind Steve McQueen and Robert Redford.

    Robert Redford? Did anyone know who he was in '66?

    Mr. Osborne did mention that this was before Redford was well known.

    Had to stay up late

    Following Gran Prix they showed The Green Helmet, and Clark Gable and Barbara Stanwyk in A Favor for a Lady (think that was the title), all good racing movies.
    All rides are bought. But occasionally the currency is talent.

    And following that they show The Crowd Roars with James Cagney - will watch it later on DVR

    McQueen I could definitely see in that role. Redford, not so much.
