Nope - he says we saw an exciting race - all 17.5 miles of it.
The rest of the 382.5 miles were practice and qualifying.

Witnessed Mario's "Miracle at Indy"...Watched 3 win their 4th Indy 500...Was there for Petty's 200th win...Saw the last Novi qualify
Waltrip is just towing the company line. These guys know Nascar is where their money comes from and will not say anything to jepodize what made them all so dam rich. I guess most of us would do the same.
Mikey W. should be on QVC selling curtains and tablecloths. His opinion on this non-race matters nil.

I can't help but think that, if Big Bill France were still around, that he would take Brian behind the barn to apply a few "what fors". He must be rolling over in his grave.Originally Posted by Liz

Anybody married to a "Buffy" holds zero water with me.
I quit watching Mikey on TV when they shook up the Monday night lineup of him, Mr. Schrader, and Mr. Benson.
I either mute the TV or change the channel when Mr. Spencer or either of the Mr. Wallaces are on.
I highly recommend that you all do the same.![]()

Wanna know what's wrong with NASCAR? They've gone from Junior Johnson to Jimmie Johnson.
Wanna know what's wrong with IndyCar? It's gone from dirt ovals to street races.
nevermind

What did NASCAR do wrong once the magnitude of the situation was clear?
The culprit here is Goodyear.
Actually, I would prefer for Buffy to replace Michael in all TV commentary positions he currently holds. I would prefer to look at her, after all I can just hit the mute button, right?Originally Posted by Jeff Chiszar

Most importantly, NASCAR knew after the first practice that the crab car set ups were killing the right rears and they did nothing.
I second the bulloney.
The caratamara is too stable, making it unturnable. The crab set up was so the right front tires wouldn't blow. A far worse problem than the right rear mind you. Only now the long straights just eat the right rear. It wasn't a weight transfer issue causing the tire wear, it was the scrubbing of the tires down the straights in that 1-2 degree crab.
I have seen how the Russians lie about things first hand, NASCAR is a close second in the way it plays an issue.

First of all, Buffy is HOT! Secondly, word is Mikey will be "Buffy-less" very soon. That will be very expensive.Originally Posted by Jeff Chiszar

There have been several races where the tire wear was not a problem for Mikey. You actually have to be in the race to experience tire wear.![]()
Hardcore NASCAR fan here and I agree with this statement. NASCAR really blew this one. Having not raced the COT at IMS, a full test with all the teams should have happened at some point.Originally Posted by Jim Wilke

oh yeah , I also think Buffy is YUMMMMMMAY!!!
now back to regularily scheduled programming LOL
First off, let me preface my remarks by saying I actually had a great time at IMS on Sunday. Not because of the race, per se, but that was certainly beyond my control. I'm proud that Mikey is able to find a way to plant one on NASCAR's hind end no matter how bad the situation.
The horse was out of the barn by the time race day rolled around, but NASCAR and Goodyear failed to prepare. Evidently they were not prepared to fail.
