It's sad news. What I don't understand is why any racer would step into any car and not buckel up.

It's been my experience that it's unfortunately the norm as opposed to the exception.

In our local paper today it said he's in stable condition but in a medical induced coma while he mends and is breathing on his own. Sounds like the prognosis is better today.

Ditto on the seat belts they have no idea why he had no seat belt on and they have no idea why his car left the road and ended up in the ditch. The article did say this happened at 4 a.m.

Honestly, I'm not really surprised about it. I was coming into Quarter Midgets in 2001 JUST as he was about to retire at Wall Speedway. My dad never liked Cameron and his dad's attitute. I DO feel sorry for him and I hope he gets better.

Cameron's situation remains the same - showing positive signs and is alert. His temperature is also showing signs of stabilizing. Doctors will continue to monitor the fluid behind his right eye but they have tentatively scheduled a surgery to relieve that on Friday should it not improve on its own. That procedure will hopefully aid in healing.
Sounds like a long way to go yet.
