    Milwaukee entry list

    http://www.indycar.com/indylights/ne..._5-25-2009.pdf

Not a good trend, down to 19 cars. Biggest name missing from last week is Genoa Racing, no #36 entered. Also missing are Wagner, Mason, and Ali Jackson, who had just moved to the #6. Mokshantsev and Brian Stewart Racing return in the #3, and Potekhen remains in the #24. The #37 Howard has driven is again listed as TBA this week.

Pablo Donoso will return in Mid-Ohio with Genoa Racing.

Word on the street is that Guthrie-Meyer has shut down.

I'm surprised to see Ali Jackson not on the list as his deal was announced for the "Rest of the season" and he didn't take any crash damage at Indy.

Also surprised not to see Wagner as this seems like one of the races they'd want to run and they had a decent race at Indy.

Surprised to see Mokshantsev back, especially on an oval. Thought the next race he might show up at would be Watkins Glen. Money talks I guess and he must've found some.

Good to see Potekhen extend his deal.

I think the good of all of this is now there ARE extra chassis out there for people who want to put a team together and run in this series. Something that wasn't exactly the case this March.

    Legal tangles on both counts.

I expect the mentioned team to return (maybe with a new name).

I do not expect the mentioned driver to return in the short term.

Will be down to 18 by Friday as word on the street is that Beatriz will not be in the #20 for Milwaukee.
Also Guthrie/Myer is done. Everything is being auctioned off in middle of June. Key Liquidators is taking care of the auction

Yeah, except all those extra chassis are wrecked ones.

Looks like the number of cars is now down to 16. Strous-PDM, Potekhen-Alliance and Biatriz-SSM are missing from the revised entry list.

Only if they come up with some money to buy some cars. All the equipment was owned by big Jim. They will be at the auction like everyone else.

Anyone know why Ana is not running? Is she sore, is the car not repairable, is it something else?

If that was the case then why did the sheriff lock the door on Tuesday (per Jim Guthrie filing bankruptcy) and why aren't they at Milwaukee?
To be honest not that I really care they were a field-filler at best.

Probably with her crash the car isn't repaired yet.

There have been injuctions filed by Guthrie. They were filed prior to the first Freedom 100 practice and again after qualifications. Thus the team missed the first practice and had to start the race last after qualifying 16th. This is also why the team is skipping Milwaukee. The team is a 50/50 JV between Jim and Butch. Hopefully reorganization will allow team to run at Iowa.

The series will survive w/o the Guthrie's, but they did bring in several entires the last couple seasons.

It is sad they thought they were the series.....good luck to those everyone involved in the mess.

Can someone please explain what happened to the Guthrie's? I had heard they had been given a suspension due to some dangerous driving under a yellow, and now they're bankrupt?

Think of it as Jim's way of burning all of his bridges on his way out of town.

Correct, he is taking drastic steps to stop his old team from competing.

Guthrie Meyer has shut down. Supposedly Bailey had contacted the team right around the time of the Freedom 100 to try to see if they could mediate a return of the team.

Truth is, they were on a wing and a prayer even before the suspension because Ali Jackson's promised funding did not materialize for G-M. It's very likely that they weren't going to enter the Freedom 100, anyhow, regardless of what went down in Kansas.

Roger iBailey is nobody's fool, but the current situatiion appears extremely redolent of the 2002 implosion of CART IndyLights; it's a war of attrition that they are not winning...

Don't be surprised if the series eschews ovals altogether (Freedom 100, aside) of course in an effort to keep the series on life support.

As for Ali Jackson; well, RLR/Anderson hasn't seen the promised money yet, either and there's talk that Jay Howard could score this ride, instead.

Completely untrue. Jackson chose to miss the Milwaukee event for personal reasons but is planning to return to test with the team in the coming weeks and complete the season with us. There is no financial issue whatsoever. There have been no conversations with Jay Howard nor has the team contemplated Jay's joining RLR Andersen. These are the facts.
