guess: It will go to a million, then the bidding will slow down. Won't make $2million.

I'm saying three quarters of a million. An authentic Miller went for two million a year ago. But this car has been pieced together. The providence on this car is pretty shaky.

The car is from Rhode Island?

    Just a little "provenance" humor.

Are you saying their claim of the "original" skin, motor, axles etc is a bit exhuberant? Dunno, just wondering if there's more to the story than their story.

EDIT--Man, I gotta slow down when I'm reading, I took it that they found all the original parts, not that they were spread around and long gone. My bad

Authenticity and originality are different things. This is an authentic re-creation using many original parts, and the non-original "replica", "re-created" and "replacement" elements are fully documented.

    I'd say $1m

I believe I've read that Chuck Davis started off with an original sc intercooler and proceeded on with the recreation from that point.
Some of the parts are 'original' Miller parts but not necessarily the parts from the original car.
9 rear drive Miller 91s built at the Long Beach Av factory (1926-29) and not a one survived intact, a victim of their own superior engineering and domination.
Parts and pieces were still in use and chassis reconfigured for decades after the formula changed in 1930.
I own a 'tribute car' (recreation using contemporary parts - designed to capture the 'spirit' of the original and of the times) and I'd love to know what happened to the original #15 1927 Boyle Valve Spl rear drive 91 that Cliff Woodbury drove for Umbrella Mike that year. I know it was originally a 1926 Harry Hartz owned car ( I have a photo somewhere of the #3 with Hartz in the cockpit at Miami Fulford BT) and I think I've seen photos of it -renumbered to #5- at Roby Stadium a few years later.
As for Cliff Woodburry, he never recovered from the 1929 Keech wreck at Altoona and returned to Chicago to run his Gargae
