I was wishing I had gone. It's been over five years since I've been up there. I missed it today. I enjoyed the race. I'm going to take my Dad next year, maybe to the 500 and the 400.
Sorry you didn't like it. Different strokes. I did, from tv. But watching the lap times helped, as there wasn't a ton of passing up front. I was up and yelling at the tv though when Johnson was digging hard to get past Vickers. And again when Martin was trying to get him.
It would have been better live for me as I could watch whoever in the field instead of just who they showed on tv. Although on tv I see the entire lap.

It was the usual parade much like Pocono will be next week.
I'm sorry you couldn't be here, I just found the Nationwide race the night before much better. Just me I guess.Originally Posted by Coyote

I guess it is not a race unless everyone is within 1 second of each other. I enjoyed the race. Not the outcome, but, Juan only has himself to blame.

I may have too. I saw some of it on tv and it was great.Originally Posted by racer x-f1

But for some reason there's always just enough good passes to keep my interest up. I really do like it to be tough to pass. Wish the aero didn't make an equal car just sort of stuck, but that's the way it goes.
Maybe they should those old IROC whale wings in the cars,so that they can draft and slingshot. I mean, that did bug me. As great a run that Mark Martin would get out of two, and be right on Johnson, there wasn't enough of a draft so he could even make an attempt going into three. That was a bit of a bummer. I wish the draft worked better.

Sounds like a personal economic reason not to renew...I agree for you, great choice, more power to you, watch on the tube next year...bye!![]()

It stunk in my living room. Martin could close the gap on Johnson down the straights, but lost it again in the turns. Clearly the lead car had the aero advantage. It took Montoya laps to get by Lagano and he had the best car in the race. A parade should have fire trucks and marching bands in it, not race cars.

And watching Juan mired back in 12th, behind Logano for ten laps, showed it's a lot easier to look dominant when you aren't working your way up from 16th.Originally Posted by hdolan
To be fair Logano said afterwards that by the end he felt his car was really strong, as good as the leaders. But I was amazed how lousy Montoya's laps times were compared to what Johnson ran when he was in traffic. Of course he was only races for points by that time.

I wished I was there today.

Heck, people were even complaining about that race tho

Odd that many of these same people complain about how Jerry Bruckheimer-ish the finish at Daytona can be, with cars crossing the finish line upside down and on fire.
If there is a heaven, there obviously isn't any racing up there. No two people's idea of what would be Utopian would be close enough for it to work.
(Plus the NIMBY's up there are just Hell to deal with!)
I was there today making it 16 in a row. Sorry to say besides last year that this was the worst Brickyard ever. Very little passing and basically a parade. Granted the track is not the best for NASCAR but the racing had been improving before last year but this was awful. Maybe it is the car of today but it was sad.
Been a long time since I had a good nap on a Sunday. Turned on the Brickyard and by lap 40, snoozing away. Woke up an hour and half later, nothing had changed! I don't want to ever hear anyone say Indycar races are parades. The only difference today was the parade the Indycars ran on was a RoadCourse and the parade that Nascar ran on was an oval.
16th and Georgetown, the greatest place on EARTH!!!
It wasn't so bad. I've seen worse. I fell asleep a couple of times. They can't all be barn-burners.
Looked as if Montoya got jobbed.
Didn't see a bunch of crap thrown onto the track post-race by disgruntled Little Dale fans (maybe those who were there can tell me otherwise), which is an improvement.
Goodyear got their feces in one sack this time. Apparently, tire testing is a good idea. The open wheelers have been doing it for decades.
It's very cool to see the classy old school guys like Martin and Elliot do well.
...a puerile junior-high zit-laden bloviating bozo loser blogger using third-rate scatological pseudo-humor talking loud and saying nothing.
Just got back from the race. What a snoozer. Anybody who thinks that was a great race is drinking the NAScar cool-aid.
I don't plan on going back for a while.
3rd time going, and all three JJ's won.
BUT, it was a good race. Lots of passing in turn three where I was sitting. Joey made a ton of his passes going into the turn. Smoke started a lot of his turns there too. YES, Juan killed himself on this one.
