Semi official cool old Indy car pics thread

Ok boys and girls, show your stuff! Let's see all the old Indy pitchurs you have had downstairs in the basement, out in the garage, under the stairs, in the back bedroom....

    Rules:
    1) Must be related to Indy (Indy itself, Indy racetracks, Indy people, front
engines, rear engined or side cars).
    2) If the pitchurs are not yours you must indicate where they came from.
    3) No spefic years are involved but the cars must be those that could have been entered at Indy. (no midgets, no taxicabs!)

    Let the good times begin!

Here's one from the wall down on Don Smith's emporium. He says it is the actual delivery of the Sumar Streamliner to Indy for the 1955 race. The plane behind it is a Curtis C-46 Comando. 'big brother of the C-47...
The car never raced in these colors or with all the fenders either.

Here's one from last years Miller at the Mile. That's Watson trying to blip the throttle on the recreation of his first Indy car built for Granitelli. He was using his cane. Still a gamer!

This one is a little unusual...
It's a Watson that was built with a four cam Ford for Indy. I don't think the car ever qualified, but WHAT a sound!
    Again at Milwaukee Miller Meet.

This may be the last pitchur of one Patrick Bedard before he wadded hisself and the car into a ball up in three. It ended his career as a race driver....
Some say it didn't happen soon enough...

    Now that's an in-car camera.

And a third one for today. The front row for the 1982 Mich 500. Sorry about the way I cropped off the left side of Johncock. I was still kind of learning photography at that point

    Gordie: "What the...?"
Mario: (teeth clinched) "How do I look?"
Mears: "How do I make this thing faster?"
