About the tree...
My grandpa, Johnny Appleseed Bernstein, once told me he attended the 1912 Indianapolis 500 and sat in the very spot where that tree stood, until 1947.
If we can extrapolate the growth rate of a macintosh apple tree, and factor in the average temperature and humidity at Indianapolis from 1912 through 1947, we could calculate a trunk diameter and compare it to the one which is graphically represented. Then we could tell what year the picture was taken!!!
Or, we could just look at it and say...cool old pic, thanks ;}
