No, it is different. I saw it at Monterey when roadsters were featured. The nose is quite a bit lower than the top of the tires.

Foyt switched to Firestones for the race as the Goodyears still were not "ready".

Foyt did the whole 500 miles on one set...but still wore Goodyear on his uniform.

I think it's the way the chassis is made, looks kinda goofy, front end cockpit sits higher than the other chassis. They oughta bring back the 3 500 mile races a season with a million dollar bonus if someone can win all 3...

That is pretty extreme and no one else is running that. I wonder if it got bumped. If anything you would want that on the right side, not the left. That would just put more grip on the right.

Shows just how stuck to the track they are, that he could run with a wing like that and still keep control.

At Michigan you tried to dial downforce out of the car; banked tracks were like that. Having said that a negative left front wing angle could also increase downforce on the left side of the car under some conditions. Depending on the car the more laminar flow coming off of the bottom of a negative angle front wing would sometimes feed more air to the nozzle of the tunnel on that side increasing the downforce.

No, Kniefel was a giant guy. As noted, he was like 6'6". I saw him drive that car at Pocono that same year and it was just insane how far his head was up out of that thing.

Chris Kneifel is so tall that when he raced in Trans-Am they had to make a bump on the roof, to allow space for his head (!).

March had a "stinger" piece of bodywork that was available to fit at the rear. Only a few teams seemed to use it.

You should have seen what he looked like sticking out of an RT-4 running the old WCAR series. Fellow had some serious stones to drive anything that unprotected.

That would be nice but Carousel is now out of business... for the time being, anyway. I have my doubts that they'll be back.
