How would you like to be this young lady last summer at Milwaukee. She has the job of taking Phil Reily's toy around the track for some "hot" laps....
I tried to get her number but she was too young for me....

This is an old Miller rear drive.... Prolly worth more than your house...
Absolutely georgious!

This is what us old timers are really gaga about. This is a Miller 91 cu. in. twin cam straight eight supercharged, and it's a FRONT driver!
Believe you me, it's a JEWEL!
Back in the day it was the quintesential tool to have. It was so good, that the rules makers outlawed them and came up with what we now call the "junk formula" so that the average Joe could compete...
The Miller meet is the only venue where I have to take a napkin with me to wipe off the drool....

IIRC Hickman was leading and had a massive crash in turn four on the last lap. The PA system was unusually quiet about his condition - I though he'd gotten killed. Couldn't tell you who won, but I remember that very clearly.Originally Posted by Ovalmeister

Here's a real obscure one - Ross Davis' Wildcat Offy, he only ran 7 races. Even though I saw him race, I never heard of him until looking at this photo

Bill Alsup's PC9b. For some reason, Motorsport.com lists him as being in a PC9 at both 1981 Michigan races, and in a #41 PC9 at the second race... well, this was taken at the second Michigan race. That's me and my mom looking at the car. I was 14, although the pit age limit was 18... don't tell anyone, I don't want to get in trouble.

I was fortunate enough to attend the world premiere of SuperSpeedway, held in Toronto at the Cinesphere IMAX theatre (IMAX originated in Canada and this is the first permanent IMAX theatre) that's just south of the Indy circuit. They went to the trouble to bring in Mario and the restored roadster that is one of the central elements of the film for the reception after the premiere.Originally Posted by flatlander_48

Worth the trouble to see it in IMAX if you get the chance.
I said I thought he'd gotten killed. Not that he got killed. The PA system didn't have any updates on his status for over 30 minutes which lead me to believe something bad had happened.Originally Posted by Roadster Fan

Mosley's come from last to win at the Milwaukee mile in one of Gurney's Eagles was the stuff of dreams...
Last year I stopped in at the british themed restaurant in Speedway (I can never remember that name) and found that Mosley's son was the day manager. We had a nice chat about his dad. Is he still there?

Awesome Dave, great work. The shot of Lazier is a keeper.
Thank you very much. For every one shot like that I have dozen of tire carts and people that got right in front of me when I snapped the shutter.Originally Posted by JagtechOhio
