mlv, Thank you for that contribution!
Ovalmiester, the shot from turn 2 is one of the rare ones that give you the kind of perspective I wrote about in another thread. It shows how big the track really ain't. Nice work, thanks for sharing it.
Andy
Your welcome. I love the "different" angles. Not often that you can look down into the cockpit of an Indy car. We need more people to post photos....I think we are gonna run out someday! LOLOriginally Posted by sneva33

I have more photos from that angle, I'm just posting shots as I come across/scan them.
David.
Thanks Oval, kind of you to say!
Sneva, the exposure on the Pruett shot makes that car look angry. Another keeper.
Hey, that '97 shot of Guthrie looks mid-race. What's Mr. RightFront up to???
Guthrie didn't last long in 97. IIRC, he had trouble the first day when they ran 20 or so laps as well as on Tuesday when they ran the rest. I seem to recall his car pouring buckets of water on pit lane.Originally Posted by JagtechOhio
My point is, I don't think he even made it to his first scheduled stop, so that's probably the reason the right-front guy isn't in a hurry.![]()

Sneva...was your Cheever shot from "carb" day or race day after he retired from the race? Do you have other Cheever "pit" shots from that day? I worked with his team that day (yellow shirt).
Please visit the tribute to my longtime friend Mel Kenyon

I know it wasn't from Carb Day since we weren't there for that day in '99. Similarly on race day we went directly to our seats down in stand E so it must have been on a practice day. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Hi all, going through some of the archives here, I ran across the shots I got at the tire test in Daytona in early '07. Enjoy,

These were taken by a friend of mine named Clint Eads. Many, here on track forum, know him as "c7", and for his "wing spotter" guides. We grew up in the same small Indiana town of Portland and went to a lot of races together with our Dads' when we were growing up.
