But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security
I always wondered about those 'fuel lines' that hooked up to the roll bar on those Eagles - anybody know the story?

There are vent tubes that lead out of both fuel cells and up into the roll hoop. From there they regroup and lead into the down tube that goes from the roll hoop to the rear part of the engine. At the bottom of the down tube there is another hose that runs out behind the engine to allow said fuel vapors to run clear of the engine bay.
Hope that helps!
Respectfully Yours,
Jacques

One of my older brothers took these photos. I know they are from Indy but not sure of the year or drivers. Any ID help is appreciated. I think they are from 1972?

Driver?
Is that Grant King at the rear wing? Maybe Jackie Howerton kneeling behind the rear wing?

The white Eagle from the rear first struck me as one Aggie's cars, #97 or # 98 but B Unser's car was white and that one may just be missing some lettering.
ya #42 is Savage and I believe that is the Antares car.
As a card carrying older brother i've always had a dim view of younger brothers, but i really like the ones that turn their brother's stuff loose on the net... Good job Ovalmeister!!![]()
.....'Ovalmeister, Thanks, these are a lot of fun. And Super44 and Don Roberts, I concur with what you guys offered. But, if that white mystery car was Bobby and one of the Olsonite Eagles, not only would it have been on Goodyear's, it wouldn't have had the old, obsolete external water pipe running up to the front of the car. So maybe it is one of Aggie's and possibly little Bruce Walkup steering the car? Either way, both he and Jigger Sirois missed the show if that was the car. But how about all the other junk these guys were trying to compete with? Yeah, that's Swede in the Antares but, he ran the race in an Eagle. 'Poor John Martin in an old Brabham and excellent observation on spotting Grant King and Jackie H. in the background. George Snider gave up on that car and hopped into one of A.J. Foyt's cars and left it for Merle who wrecked it.
God I love this thread.
I swear these pics and collective knowledge of the contributors would make a great book.
Oh the #43 driven by Loquasto in 1972 is, of course, the Fiori car Denny Zimmerman drove the year before.
