Faster than a bullet from a gun
He is faster than everyone
Quicker than the blinking of an eye
Like a flash you could miss him going by
No one knows quite how he does it but it's true they say
He's the master of going faster. -George Harrison
Any good pics of the '79 Vels-Parnelli Jones car? RM referenced the rear of the new car looking a bit like it and I want to see the back of the car but can't find any good pictures.
Congratulations to RHR, & all the winning drivers & teams in the fantastic 2012 season. Looking forward to 2013!

Thanks, I've been looking for a picture of that #37 Curtis Indianapolis car.
Jeff Downer
Indianapolis, Indiana
Anybody out there ever wear a pair of Sergio Valente jeans?
!972 was my first Indianapolis 500. We were sitting just across from the snake pit. Thanks for bringing back some great memories. P.S. Revson's #12 is for sale by some guy in New Zealand. Started in the middle of the first row.
Sigh.
Some guy in NZ got Bobby's Eagle sale (#210) If I remember right it was Bobby's 1967 and !970 Indianapolis ride. It has a great history.
Ate' s Brabham in this picture had a great career at Indianapolis - 2 top tens (1968 with Duman and 1971 with Vukovich). There are more pictures of it in its 1971 configuration at Can-Cars Ltd. website.
Well Petty eventually made to Indianapolis as a owner/sponsor with John Andretti.
I think he went from 33d to 5th by finish. An impressive Indy run. I believe Johnson Martin brought the car back to Indianapolis in 1972.
Was that both Bobby Rahal and Teo Fabi with hair?
If you had seen the wreck he was in you would know. lol. That race was a disaster.
That car or sister car was up for auction at Mecum's 2011 Spring Fling in Indianapolis. It was in original unrestored condition, very clean shape. A real pleasure to see up close.
I was there in '74. Had great time, We stayed at a KOA campground (parked between Johnny Parsons Jr. and Mike Mosely). A kid's dream weekend. On the way back to Indianapolis I read the map wrong and we almost ended up in Cleveland.
lol. Me too.
I believe it might be a Gerhardt wedge. Pollard won twice that year in it at Milwaukee and Dover. The Dover win was with the Plymouth stock block but I think the Milwuakee win was with an Offy since Carl Williams drove the car with an Offy the week before at Indianapolis.
Foyt had an Atlanta that was heavily modified. It was Snider's '74 Indianapolis ride and the car in this picture looks a lot like it.
