Some Indycars I've painted for rfactor, rendered in 3DSmax
No, I cannot. Might try someone else.
The Speedway's Media Website (with the Hi-Res pics) doesn't either.
I did find this one , though. http://500legends.com/plogger/plog-c...bs-mclaren.jpg
Can-Am Cars has this car for sale with picture and some history of the car, Including this one at Indianapolis.

Indianapolis, Indiana
those are some ballsy-looking cars in '66- I just went to the Jerry Richert (he's the guy in #63) Memorial race near the Twin Cities a few weeks ago- his son races in our local Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series (UMSS)
wasn't the photographer Walt Chernookal the guy who had a homemade motordrive back in the early '50s who captured some amazing series of east coast sprint car wrecks? One of them appeared as a spread in LIFE IIRC.
"Charging a man with murder here was like handing out speeding tickets at the Indy 500."- Capt. Willard, Apocolypse Now
"Ain't nuthin' like a piece of p***y, 'cept maybe the Indy 500."- Bunny, Platoon
"To alcohol! The cause of- and solution to- all of life's problems."- Homer J. Simpson
It was the Charlie Musselman ejection crash at Langhorn that was in life magazine. 1957 I believe.
"Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved
body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting
"...holy $^!+...what a ride!"

yep, that's it- found some shots with an image search- they were taken by Walt Chernokal- incredible pics for the day-
Charlie got a concussion but no broken bones or serious injuries- his shoes were gone though....

Faster than a bullet from a gun
He is faster than everyone
Quicker than the blinking of an eye
Like a flash you could miss him going by
No one knows quite how he does it but it's true they say
He's the master of going faster. -George Harrison
1988 John Andretti hero card
Looks like a massive rear wing for what looks like a slightly banked oval. Im gonna guess its Phoenix.

I am in the process of finding images of certain cars to draw on my grandparents garage door, and I need some help finding certain shots of those cars.
My grandpa would like:
- Jimmy Bryan in 1958
- Tom Sneva in 1983
- Tony Stewart in 1996 (blue sidepods)
- AJ's farewell car
but, he wants them in certain positions, :
Bryan needs to be a right side shot, so does Sneva, while AJ and Tony need to be left side shot. I believe that I have Sneva and Bryan down, I am having trouble finding pictures of the other two.
Can I have some help please?
Tom, he should have won in 1960 too. He was right on Ward and Rathmans tail (closed to 5 seconds bak) when he burned a valve with 15 laps left. Ward even commented that he didn't know what would happen when he caught them.
I believe it's a 1992 Lola Buick
Straightup
the thing about raceday at Indy is that there are always hundreds of great pro photographers around who are on the alert for just about anything to happen
the person who got the shots of the scaffolding going over had to really be quick on the trigger to get it in frame and in focus in those days.....
What happened to all of the "Sneva33" photos?![]()
Some more diamonds in the rough to share with everyone. Welcome to the '68 Indy, courtesy of some amatuer slides. I suspect these were taken during practice or qualifying rather than on race day, but I'm not sure about that. If I've got any of the details wrong please let me know. I'm going mainly by car numbers moreso than visual recognition.
