    Remakes better than the original

As much as I love the Stones, Johnny Winter's Jumpen Jack Flash and New Riders Dead Flowers win hands down.

I like Stevie Ray Vaughan's cover of "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)" better than the Hendrix version.

And Thin Lizzy's version of "Rosalie" over Bob Seger's.

And Motley Crue's covers of "Teaser" and "Anarchy in the UK" ("Anarchy in the USA"). "Teaser," in particular, seems tailor-made for them.

And George Thorogood's version of "Who Do You Love." Bo Diddley's version is awesome, don't get me wrong, but George Thorogood's version sounds like an outlaw biker gang rumbling into town.

Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts imo is better than the original.
We drive 800 miles every year to see them go 500 miles. And we're glad to do it.

Since my favorites have already been mentioned, I guess I'll go with

"Just A Gigolo" by David Lee Roth..it may not be better, but it's fun.

So is "Amish Paradise" by Weird Al Yankovic.

As much as I like Hendrix, I'll give Frank Marino the nod with his version of "Purple Haze"

Also, Ed Pallermo Big Band 's versions of Frank Zappa scores is pretty awesome.

It's hard to find, I'm sure, but an 80's band called The Fools did a kick-ass version of Doo Wah Diddy. The album's called "World Dance Party."

Sea Fury, I don't disagree with your musical opinions very often. But I have to completely disagree on these two. But, that's what makes this world great!

Wanna know what's wrong with NASCAR? They've gone from Junior Johnson to Jimmie Johnson.

Wanna know what's wrong with IndyCar? It's gone from dirt ovals to street races.

The remake of "The Day the Earth Stood Still," was terrible. Sorry, this is a movie remake.

Aretha Franklin one upping a scorching Wilson Pickett on "Respect" - but I'll take both

I prefer Marianne Faithful's version of As Tears Go By, but you cannot knock the original Stones version either.

It's a good song, I prefer Gladys Night version, and CCR did a cool version too. Who did it first anyway?

I've seen a couple of votes for GNR's version of "Knocking on Heaven's Door".

hmmm... I must be in the minority. I really like Dylan's original. Which is wierd because I hate all of Dylan's other stuff.
