    I think that it's proof positive that neither Tony George or the car owners ever had any business running Indy car racing.

    considering that sentiment is that the rendering isnt acurate perhaps you should wait a little over 3 hours to start this poll

    A slight exaggeration, but I've read all 190 posts in the other thread, and the vast majority of people at TrackForum believe it is the real car... and hate it.

    perhaps this poll should be 'is it real or not'

    then if it is... run the current poll

    Waiting to see the actual concept unveiled before I vote. If it looks like what I've seen already, then a massive .

    I need to hear what the designers say. Maybe they've invented some trick new active front suspension that makes that nosewheel work for a race car when something like it hasn't proven to in the previous 100 years. And maybe then it has some awesome benefits. Otherwise... I see a wide front track as usual in the future.

    It almost seems to me the rears would need to steer it. I keep trying to come up with a front suspension idea for it, and if the chassis roll is handled by the wide rear it could be done I guess. And maybe the rear design controls the lift/load on the front somehow. And if the tire had a rounded profile so they could lean it in or out of the turn, top out is what would be unusual, and have that work both ways maybe the front could steer it. But I can't think of how to do it.

    It's an interesting day.

    I'm against this thing. I actually think it is going to be this with a wider front wheel base....I'd take the Swift personally!

    here's my sentiments I posted on another current thread at TF;

    c'mon guys, what we're seeing at this point AIN'T the car!!
    A) the DW crew would not go to the trouble of making a big deal about an unveiling at a big car show, only to let some internet site post pics of it the day before.
    B) and the way I understood it, the few journalists who were given a peek at the thing a few months ago didn't walk out of there with pics anyway.
    C) however you feel about Robin Miller, I have enuf confidence in in his technical judgment to know he would not be excited about what we're seeing this a.m. Same goes for Graham R. and the many others who thought it was cool.
    D) I ain't no engineer, but if you put Scott Dixon in that car tomorrow at IMS (no snow of course!), I say it would drive straight into the wall in T1, break in half, and the tub and engine would flip like a doodlebug down into the infield grass. Hopefully, Scott would be OK.
    E) You can't get away from the fact, that with the tires and construction materials we have today, a 4-wheeled car has to have the rectangular (or almost square, as in a kart) configuration to handle high-speed corners on ovals and road courses- top fuel dragsters CAN'T turn!!
    F) it is afterall just a copy of the Ace and Gary SNL Penismobile....

    I am waiting to vote until I see the real thing. I am hoping for some changes from the leaked photos, like a front wheel base > 4 inches.
