    What an Idiot!

Boy am I feeling lousy. Today was not one of my better days, or even close, but I hate to hear that I've disappointed some of you, to the point of wanting me replaced. It was a difficult weekend getting the pictures and sound, but I have no excuse for my poor performance. All I can ask is, that you give me another chance, and I'll hope for a better outcome in Birmingham.

    no apology needed, Bob

you are a legend in motorsports broadcasting and even legends have off days (I didn't feel it was an off day).

    Agree.

I also read that only 3 of the 9 full time Versus camera operators were there. I'm sure that didn't help.

Don't take some of the idiots on the forum to heart. You do just fine, and there's two in this household at least who are always glad you are on. And all the guys above are too.

Although I do have to say, you had us ROFLOAO with "Sao Paolo, Brassiere".

IndyCar also doesn't have a benefit of multiple "warm-up" races. The Fox NASCAR crew had the shootout and the duels in which to shake off the rust, so that by the 500, they were up to speed.

I enjoyed the race. No worries here, man.

Bob, you are part of what's great about Indy Car racing. Don't go anywhere. Your love for the sport always comes across. I was so glad that Indy Car got you back. Looking forward to your next call.

Don't sweat it Bob, I think you did an excellent job given the circumstances. Spend a couple hours on here and see the complaints about everything. After that you'll have no problem taking those few comments with a grain of salt. Keep doing what you're doing, the vast majority of us are ecstatic to have you back.

I hope Jenkins has this job as long as he wants it.

I think you do an excellent job Bob. Hopefully the DirecTV/Versus dispute will have ended in time for the Birmingham race.

Mr. Jenkins, I remember hearing you on WIRE as a kid and have always loved listening to you on the radio. I don't know what was said, but you truly are the voice of Indycar. You deserve to be where you are and you are the greatest. First time out of the gate is never perfect and things will be better going forward. Just don't push to hard to please the idiots on Track Forum as it may lead to more mistakes. Take your time and do the job right. Those that have followed you throughout your career know you are a cut above. Take a deep breath and have a great show in a couple of weeks!

I just watched the highlights on Fox 59. Even the highlight reel, which I suppose is carefully edited, is weird. Qualifying, the track, the race, the radio were all strange. Much like the feeds from japan, weak camera angles and everything delayed.

I have enjoyed your call for many years Bob, upward on onward. Thanks for being there for all of us.

Bob, when the qualifying show ended, I was feeling pretty down. I had no idea that within 24 hours the track would be race ready, and we would see some of the best street car indy racing I have seen in a very long time.

Thanks for all you do, just knowing what a huge fan you are of this sport makes us fans of you.

Bob you are the man. I'll never forget when I took 2 of my best friends, Indycar Newbs to pole day for the first time in 2007, you took a few pictures with us and my friends thought you were so rad that they started calling you "Black Out Bob". Keep up the awesome work, you are my favorite broadcaster in all of sports.
