Todays FA Cup game between Spurs & Bolton was abandoned after 23 year old Bolton player Fabrice Muamba collapsed face down on pitch & stopped breathing. Immediate medical intervention was carried out as medics attempted to resuscitate him for 10 minutes, including defibrilation, but reports state he was still not breathing as he was taken off pitch & Fabrice was taken to hospital fighting for his life. There was no physical contact with any other player prior to his collapse.
Although born in the DRC, Muamba has represented England at under 16 & 21 level.
Wishing the best for him, & thoughts with his family & young son.
*Update, Fabrice is now described as critically ill in the ICU department of the heart attack centre in London![]()

Critically ill, but stable. Stories that he stopped breathing on the pitch and defibrillators had to be used twice to get his heart beating.
Best wishes for Fab, he made his first team debut for us in 2006 and had two great years, including winning our young player of the year award. Had we not been relegated and forced to sell him he'd probably still be with Blues.![]()

Heck no
Actually don't have a preference in the EPL right now. I just haven't figured which underdog I want to tag my fandom to.
For the record, I wasn't arguing anything for the Galaxy.....I'm a Union fan - was just commenting how the Galaxy seemed disinterested in the games.
But as a fan, having seen TFC last year and how woeful they were against the Union last year, I question why a Canadian team should have an autobid into the CCL. I guess I'm too new to following the professional scene to understand, but as I understood it I thought that it was the top clubs from the leagues that make the CL (i.e. top four in the EPL go into the UCL). Here it seems if you're just the best team in a cup where there were only two top-tier clubs (now three) that entry qualifications of the CCL are a little dubious. I'd rather see it just be the top four from MLS for US and Canada, top clubs from Mexico, etc. and that makes up the CCL. I think that would give it more credibility than Aron Winters very difficult first year still being good enough to enter the tournament in the first place.
For the record, I do want to see the CCL each major status, I think it's a great way to promote the MLS especially if they can get to the point where they dominate the competition.
Bundesliga.
My teamIs pretty much sucking right now.
It would be tragic to get kicked out like a few years ago. But the season still has a long way to go.
For you Americans it would be like if the two last place major league baseball teams get sent to AAA and then the two best finishing teams from AAA get sent up to the majors. There are millions and millions at stake not to be one of the two last place teams.
Thoughts and wishes to Muamba. I really hope he pulls through. I watched video of the crowd and the stadium during the plight and the entire scene reminded me of Las Vegas from 2011. So sad. Pull through Muamba!![]()

Positive news on Muamba. Gradual improvements, heart beating on its own, can speak, recognize family, and so on. Still critical I believe, but looking good. COME ON FABRICE!!!
In other news, Bastian Schweinsteiger is out for the German Cup match between Bayern and Gladbach. I feel reall nervous about that...
I am paranoid of jinxing Arsenal, but: Chelsea loss + Spurs draw + Gunners win = Arsenal in third now.
Keep it up Gunners!
And also booyah to Bayern!
So the Olympic team can't get out of a handed-on-a-silver-platter qualifying format and gets eliminated in humiliating fashion.
And so Freddy Adu and Amobi Okugo get to come back to the worst team in the MLS. 0-0 tie to Vancouver at home, now 0-3-1 after four with little hope in the future......
Union have next week off but this is sure looking like a loooooooooooong season south of Philly.
(For the record, don't get the knocks coming from ESPN and national media on Zach MacMath. He's done his job fine, it's the crap in front of him and the questionable coaching staff. Chris Seitz he is not.)
Arsenal beat Man City over the weekend 1-0. Yay.
Also, has Mario Balotelli seen his las match at City? Seems like Mancini is finally fed up with his antics.
Yep, and since Tottenham lost to Norwich City today, they are alone in third with a game in hand to be played Wednesday against relegation bound Wolves. They should have 5 points over 4th place Wednesday, but this is Arsenal we're talking about. Sometimes they play down to their competition.
Also, how about that Clint Dempsey?
On my two teams:
Well done to Arsenal for getting three points against Wolves. I can't say this enough: You can beat the big teams as much as you like, but you HAVE to get results against the other teams as well. There was no excuse for the results at QPR. Three points at Wolves was the only acceptable result. Wigan concerns me, however. They just beat Man United today and they are Arsenal's next matchup. GO GUNNERS!
Man o' man Bayern, you were beaten fair and square. I hate it, but kudos to Dortmund. Where were you Robben? Regardless, could be a blessing in disguise with Real waiting. Plus, revenge is possible with the German Cup finals approaching. Either way, congrats to Dortmund. Just don't expect Bayern to be losing against you all the time.![]()
I saw the Wigan/Man U game today and it's the first time I have seen Wigan, but they didn't look like a relegation bound team. I am guessing it's taken them all season to get their act together and play as a team? They are certainly more entertaining than say Aston Villa.
Acute gastroenteritis is more entertaining than A***n V***a.
First blood to Bayern! Beat Real Madrid 2-1! I just hope they don't choke again. As cool as am El Clasico final would be, Bayern needs to crash the all Spanish party this year.![]()
Chelsea 1-0 Barcelona
Chelsea 1-1 Birmingham City

That's ancient history Ensign, that was the old "new" Chelsea of Andre Villas-Boas. Now we have the new "old" Chelsea.
On a half-serious note, I think Chelsea have to win the Champions League in order to qualify for it next year. If they win the FA Cup, would they at least get Champions League qualifying consideration? I know winning the League Cup gets you into the Europa League, but what about the FA Cup?
Looks like Arsenal have lost Mikel Arteta for the rest of the season, so they are now without their most creative of players at this critical juncture, and I can't help but think Chelsea will be wanting to ride their wave of momentum. However, again, Chelsea may not want to go balls out against the Gunners with Barca waiting on Tuesday.
Ugh, I'm nervous for the Gunners again.
Arsenal vs. Chelsea tomorrow! No Arteta...c'mon RVP!
My Gunners could only manage a draw, but it's better than losing, especially with things very close. However, Newcastle are leading Stoke 2-0 and Tottenham are playing later against QPR. Things will get very tight with Arsenal having only three game left to play.
As for Bayern, currently tied with Werder Bremen after the latter let in an own goal. Keeping things safe for the match against Madrid on Wednesday.
Speaking of Madrid, El Clasico later today!
Update: RIBERY! BAYERN WIN IT AT THE DEATH AGAINST BREMEN!!!!
