    Some Fun, Useless Baseball Stats

    ....because its a slow night at work

    There are no MLB expansion teams above .500 all-time. 8 of these expansion teams have played more than 40 years. Closest are the California Angels 3,928 - 3,955 27 games under .500. Farthest away is the Padres 3,050 - 3,538 488 games under .500

    Games over .500: Yankees 2299, Giants 1463

    Phillies - 1123 games UNDER .500. To put that in perspective, If they average 90 wins per season (which they've done the last three years) they would need to do that for 62 years to be .500!!!!

    The Cardinals have had more players play a major league game for them than any other team - 1960. Next closest are the Phillies (1874) and Cubs (1873).

    No such thing as "useless baseball facts." It's a game MADE for statistics. Some of them may be more applicable than others, but that doesn't make them useless. I love baseball. GO REDS (in 1st place again...today, at least).
