Some fans claim one series or another runs "real race cars." What's everybody else running, fake race cars?
INDYCAR - NOW IZODIER THAN EVER!
my blog ... I'm not a big fat woodchuck, I'm THE big fat woodchuck.
Wow, talk about an early start!

All the current FT teams + Fisher + RLLR + Schmidt + Herta + Walker + AFS should be in the mix. Is Vision done completely?
And we do have a good number of confirmed drivers already
Vitor at Foyt
Marco/RHR at Andretti Autosport (Marco has Venom for 2 more years and RHR has DHL for 2012 at least)
Tag at FAZZT has a contract through 2013
Simona has Entergy at HVM for 2012/13
Hildebrand has at least a 2-year deal with Panther
Graham has Service Central through 2012... one would presume they'll be back at Ganassi.
Per Bernard on "Inside Track" a couple weeks ago, they expect 24 FT cars for the first race in 2012. Only a couple of the current team owners have expressed concerns that they may need loans/etc to be able to buy the new cars.
Congratulations to RHR, & all the winning drivers & teams in the fantastic 2012 season. Looking forward to 2013!
We are all together now. Goal 22-24 races per year split 50:50 oval:RC/SC
Post on page 1.
Also, will we combine the list from the aero kit/engine thread to this one?
We drive 800 miles every year to see them go 500 miles. And we're glad to do it.

Didn't Herta say he was going to be running an Indycar team in 2012?
Oops, nevermind. Saw Fro already mentioned it up there.
We will miss you Dan
further update coming tonight or tomorrow
I'd be shocked if Vitor lasts until 2012 with Foyt.
In fact, I am surprised he's still there after the "meh" results they've had together. He's dumped better drivers then Vitor far earlier.
Maybe Tex gets rewarded for his patience. Kinda doubt it at this point though.

Can we start the 2013 thread too?
Wow! This is almost like the election cycles. The day after the 2010 elections, we start on 2012!![]()
Tony Stewart Racing already speaking with GM about a 2012 Indy Car team.
If so, there is your team for Bryan Clauson in Indy Cars.
Robin spilled the beans last night on WT.
I had heard that Tony and GM were already kicking the tires about a Indy Car operation and Robin verified it.
I think this is great news if you want to see Chevy get back into Indy Cars full-bore. You get Roger Penske, Chip Ganassi, Panther and Tony Stewart as your 4 signature teams and you make a statement.
Ah, yes, I missed WT, and brainless Speed TV doesn't reair it until the morning.
If Davey retires, will Hamilton racing move up?
Just made page one!
I'm really curious to see how the engine manfacturer support will work this time. If Chevy gets both Ganassi teams, I would guess Honda will ramp up support for at least AGR, but I don't think that would be enough to compete with the 7 car Penske/Ganassi juggernaut. Who might Honda add as other "signature teams." Nunn, Fernendez, and Rahal-Letterman are all gone and the next best team in terms of ability to field quick cars is KVR who will obviously be with Lotus. Who might Honda choose at that point? All the remaining teams other than Newman-Haas are fairly unproven.
This doesn't even account for Lotus. If Honda and Chevy are agressive in affiliating with teams again there won't be many quality teams to choose from other than Newman Haas, and my guess is Honda swipes them up quickly.
Lastly, what if the rumors of a 4th engine manufactuer for 2013 are true? Who in the world are they going to affiliate with?
I guess long story short, is this is why having multiple manufacturers is really positive for the sport if managed correctly. All the teams will likely benefit financially either directly or indirectly. When you do the math it seems there aren't enough current teams to go around, so maybe we will see teams new to the series or some of the part-time teams step up.

List updated. I'm really not as concerned about drivers (those aren't even set for 2011 yet) as I am about new teams and how the chassis and engine affiliations will fall.

Take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
