Jocko Maggiacomo's father built a Formula 3 car in about 1960. He hoped to make it to F1 with his own Jocko Specials...
Jocko Jr is of course most known for being involved in the Bobby Allison accident in 1988.

"An emphasis was placed on drivers with road racing backgrounds which meant drivers from open wheel, oval track racing were at a disadvantage. That led Tony George to create the IRL." -Indy Review 1996

Think that's the best pic I've seen of Baxter Price. Bit of a cult hero of mine for his perennially unsuccessful attempts.

Well, since I turned to cars with "yard beer" sponsors, how about Al Loquasto in D.K. Ulrich's Schaefer Beer Buick from the 1981 Mountain Dew 500. It took a friend and me two years to land this photo, and we got it from D.K. himself.
My buddy built a 1/24 model replica of the car. Actually, he built two of them. He gave one to me and kept the other for himself.

now that is cool!!!...GUY DID AN AWESOME JOB ON THE MODEL.

SWEET!!! The best of times for nascar.....factorys were full bore behind the series, the cars were as big a star as the personalities....what a time! Petty Engineering, Mario Rossi, Harry Hyde, Nichels Engineering, Holman-Moody, and there were some fairly decent shoes too. I really miss that era. I'd love to see someone do a high quality movie from the time.....even if just the thrash to get the first Daytona to the Talladega white elephant inaugural.
HOPE SOME EARLY 90,S STUFF IS OK...I GOT A BUNCH..

Are you sure that isn't Robby Gordon? His Cup debut was in 91 with Junie in the Publix Ford. He made only one other start before coming back for his 3rd start in the Dega race following Davey's death. Wally drove some races for Junie in 91 - but I think this particular photo is Gordon.
