I say .6 ... you gotta understand we were up against The Masters Golf Tournament. I'd bet that they DID take a lot of viewers from us & everyone else too.
    But that's just my opinion!

Has VS ever scored a .6?

Yes actually, Long Beach, Texas, and one more I can't remember.
I am a fan of the IZOD IndyCar Series, Formula 1, and AMA Supercross in that respective order.

    .22 according to hobbson.

...of course, that also might have been his BAC at the time of his tweet.

    Not really surprising

With Tiger making his run right around the green flag, those thinking 0.6 are delusional.

Hobbson's estimate is still lower than I expected, but given the competition and the fact it was on VS, not unreasonable.

Damn I sure hope it's not 0.22 as that would be pathetic. Forget the Masters, if IndyCar can't even draw a .25 it would show just how useless it is being on Versus.

ABC could air dead air and receive at least a 0.3

Do we have anything official yet? I know it'll be down this week due to the Masters, I'm hoping just not too down. Either way, back at it for Long Beach.

Anyone really think Tiger has anything to do with it?

    0.22???

I just saw on Twitter that Barber ratings averaged 0.22, peaked at 380.000. This is TERRIBLE. I hope it's not true...

That's about what I expected. The Masters had a great finish. That's what's going to happen when you're against the biggest event of one of the world's most popular sports.

Not really. Some apologists will try and make it seem that way.

It certainly didn't help though that the Masters was compelling, interesting TV last Sunday.

The Masters ratings on Sunday were down 12% this year too. Maybe having Charl, Day, Scott and Cabrera up there didn't kindle the fire for some American sports fans?

The final rating was a .3, the same as last year.

That's why you need a network partner who's going to promote the races on your cable partner. I know ABC casually mentions it twice but instead of the silly Downforce ads they need to have a rundown of when the next few races are during the commercial breaks.

You've got to beat it into people's skulls when the next race airs and on what network.

If excuses were tenths of a rating point the series would be pulling down 8.8's. Every week there's something on every other network and cable channel, I'll say it again focus on improving and promoting the series stop whinning about the other sports that you compete with.

Too many people here just refuse to understand that their enthusiasm and unrealistic expectations do not translate to other people being interested and watching. If anyone still thinks that NBC is going to be so eager to add a dozen Indycar races for 2012 based on a 0.22 for the second race of the year withdraw the koolaid IV. And don't give the same spiel about how the ratings will build as the year goes on, it didn't come true last year. We should pause here for the report that always comes that with the changing way people view television that Nielsen ratings aren't important. And then we can all continue talking about them because they're actual numbers and that's what advertisers/sponsors go by.

There was a post on the other thread about Randy expecting a 0.6 for Barber so now would be a good time for him to speak to how his expectations were off by a factor of almost 3.

10% of american TV's were tuned to the Final Round of the masters. I think I kindle the fire for most.

And has there been a release of these ratting? People are starting to say .22 or .3 and I haven't seen anything on twitter or websites.

Why? So those casual viewers can also be bored and turned off for life on Indy racing? It's the product that's completely broken. Until Bernard figures that out not much is going to change. The Indianapolis 500 is the only event that anyone outside of diehard fans has any interest in. And even that has waned in recent years. The answer is right in front of everyone but no one in a position to do anything about it has a clue. So far that includes Randy Bernard. There are not going to be any quick fixes.
