I just got on to see how fast the member experiences go and at 2 minutes after both the pace car rides and the intros are GONE!
Looks like I will have to be SUPER fast for Iowa.

What are tips to get the experiences?
I hope to be able to get them on my phone since I'm not sure if I will be back from Rochester (Mayo) by the time of release.
Don't know what to tell you. Super fast computer, understanding where to start, super fast computer skills , high speed internet, and a little luck. I got to the "add to cart button", clicked on it "item no longer available". Went back and signed back in and got just "item no longer available" Didn't even get the "add to cart button". So I was close but, no pace car ride. That was in less than fifteen seconds. Probably closer to ten. That is why I don't like how they do this. The best snipers with high speed internet and high speed computers have the advantage and that is not fair for all members. There are still people with dial up out there and people who are just happy to be able to turn their computer on. But it is what it is unless they change it.
My main fear is being on my blackberry on the road from Rochester. I know it won't be fast. I am hoping to be able to stop someplace with free Wi-Fi on my way home.
I haven't even gotten the "add the cart button"
Thanks. ( I'm just whining.)
That's okay. I'm whining too. I would just like to see it fair (and I'm a pretty fair sniper). I still think the best way to do this is make sure you have member events at every race where members come. Then have a raffle. that way you are rewarding the people who actually bought tickets, are participating in the members event (such as the tailgate), and are physically there so you know they will get used. If no member events, a registration process could be used with a random pick. I still kinda miss the points system where you could redeem points for member experiences. It rewarded people for their involvement. But, it is a growing club and hopefully it keeps growing to a point where it is better and better and it will only get that way with member involvement.
I hear you there too. but, what I think they are trying to accomplish is to put butts in the seats with the incentive of getting a pit pass. That worries me to a degree. The problem with this is that I think most Champion members buy their seats early because they want to get the best seats available and know where they want to sit. So, we'll be paying full price twice for pit passes just like you. The good news is that $40.00 is pretty reasonable. Loudon is asking $70.00 and that ain't gonna happen for us this year there. Of course they charge you $100.00 to write your name on the pit wall so what do you expect. They do allow coolers though!![]()
Oh I totally get they want to put butts in the seats. However isn't this the first race that Champions were not offered pit passes for free? Free is nice, but like I said above I don't mind paying (could have had the option of saying of half price or save $10.). Just make it the same across the board for all tracks for the champion members for pace car rides, pre-race, etc. A discount is always appreciated for the loyal fans (you can also serve a lot more members that way!). Seems like sometimes we are forgotten in the rush for the newbies or extra butts at the track.
I'm a little suspicious about that. I did the same thing for a pace car ride at Indy on Pole Day. I was on the web site, refreshing it repeatedly, the very instant the rides became available. It couldn't have been more than two seconds they appeared when I entered my request...and got the message that they were all gone. Not minutes, seconds.
Oh well, I said then. It was more for my son than me. But...sometimes I wonder...

Well, the email I got in reply to the email I sent yesterday was that I need to be on the site EARLY and get to the page I want and keep refreshing until I get the shopping cart. So I am going to be at a hotel in Rochester with Wi-Fi next Monday and Tuesday (those are the usual days the offers open) with 2 different browsers open. I only get 1 live Indy Car race a year and that is Iowa.
When do Member Experiences go on "sale" for each race??? 2 weeks prior/10 days prior/at a specific time???
YIKES!!!!!! 100TH POST!!!!!!!!!

It is the week of the race. It has been the Monday or Tuesday of the race (except Indy when they were doing things almost every day).
It is 8PM Eastern (7PM Central)
Like I said. There has to be a fairer way. If not then it will be hard to keep the members you have and attract the members you want. But, alas, I am not running it and can only give my opinion. One that at least appears to have a sound basis.
I only joined because of the experiences that were offered. I will see how it goes getting them.
They are working on ways to better enhance this so everyone has a chance to participate. I will tell you this Liza and Anne are reding these forums and do listen....
Gass, I am glad they are reading and listening. I hope they get things working. I am excited for next week.
I'm really disappointed with the member experience opportunities. Living in the East I can only go to two races. I kept getting sold out messages for the Mid-Ohio items even tho I was ready right on time. Tonight I got all excited because I actually got the pit pass in my cart and checked out--that's when I found out I didn't actually get a pit pass but the chance to win a pit pass. I guess I'm the only person who misses collecting points and redeeming them, but at least then I got a little something for my membership. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed for luck in the drawing tomorrow.
I wonder if they just didn't change the reply email from what they used last week for Sonoma. Last week it was a drawing. This week, first 10 were supposed to win, flat out. No drawing. If it were a drawing, you'd think I could still put a pace car ride in my cart at the Indycar Nation Champion Experiences. I can't. It shows as sold out. For comparison, the pit/garage passes are a drawing this week. I can still put that option in my basket. I wouldn't count myself out just yet, were I you. My boyfriend managed to check out with a pace car ride in his basket, too. He's sure hoping it's just a glitch and that he does get his ride!
On the plus side, I did get the driver intro and pre-race access, so all hope isn't lost for us. And don't forget to sign up for the Champion Member party! I always like meeting other people who love Indycar. I know too few.![]()
