Hopefully this will be a turn around in his career.
"Any time that I can be out at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, you're going to see a smile on my face." - Dan Wheldon
"It's crazy how the Indianapolis Motor Speedway can make you so emotional. I went from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows in less than 24 hours." - Alex Tagliani
Agreed, PT.
The first thing Marco did in the Winner's Circle interview was to give credit to his crew. Good job.
If you do what you've always done...
you'll get what you've always gotten.
Great job Marco, an American driver for an American team!!!!
"You just don't know what Indy Means" Al Unser Jr.
Why can't he race like that all the time?
He's got enough talent. Just doesn't show it enough.
Maybe this gets him restarted again.
Prime Minister of Gackland
I think Marco has been well over due...
Ignorant men marvel at extraordinary things. Intelligent men admire simple things.
When you see how he raced tonight, you wonder why he can't look that good the majority of the time. That was a lot of fun watching Marco and TK go at the last fifty laps. Great racing. Ernest
I give this race a perfect 10 with excitement and drama. Marco has always been strong on this track. What a drive from 17th starting spot tonight. cheers mate no worries how the hell are yeah
An Andretti Indy Car win will help in future promotion...fact of life.
Like NASCAR and Earnhart.
Kanaan made Marco earn that one, great racing. Really great last 50 laps or so, after so many yellows.
One thing about Marco in the past, is I think the team has made a lot of bad strategy calls and setup changes during the race for him.
And Paff was questioning the American talent in the field today.....Marco and Hildebrand were awesome!!!
I really hope this rejuvenates Marco as a driver. He has shown talent on both ovals and road/street courses in the past. He (and the team, to be honest) just need to be more consistent. If they can work on their niggles, Marco can put a fight to the top dogs. I have the faith.
Dario had said in the interview that the car was just understeering real bad and that every time he caught up to Marco and TK, his car would shoot towards the turn 4 wall. He ended up letting Scott and JR pass him as he wanted to conserve what lead he would have with Power out.
I can't help but think his car wasn't set up for traffic, especially when it is side-by-side in front of him.
Corvette Racing - Chevrolet Corvette C6-R#3 Antonio Garcia/Jan Magnussen/Jordan Taylor, #4 Oliver Gavin/Tommy Milner/Richard Westbrook-FC Bayern MunichNeuer - Lahm, Boateng, Dante, Alaba - Martinez, Schweinsteiger - Robben, Muller, Ribery - Mandzukic
Looks like Mario was a bad luck charm. He wasn't there tonight!
I was thinking the same thing, PT. Sure drove like Michael Andretti in that old black Kmart car. Smart and aggressive. Great driving and great racing by Marco, TK, Jr and the two Targets.
Marco was great tonight on the track and great in Victory Lane! It would be awesome to see him and Graham start winning consistently.
This victory was great for the team and builds confidence. A great race.
That's cause he's a points racer. Always has been always will be. His whole career has relied on being in the right place at the right time. Power was out of the race tonight and nobody broke down amongst the leaders which is why he finished where he finished. There was a reason why he spent half an hour trying to explain his loose handling car. He was trying to justify his result cause he new he didn't push hard to try and win. It's why he lost the title to Montoya! Think about his accomplishments and how exactly he has won them. He's had fortune fall his way on just about every occasion. His strength is his consistency. If Power and Penske were half as consistent they would bury him.

"Try some of these before or after your statements if you are not presenting them as facts. Things like - "In my opinion", or "I think that", JHMO, IMHO, IMO, JMO... Your opinions are not (necessarily) fact. That would clear things up some." - Seadog 03/25/2010 11:40am So the above is JMO.
