    Smile Turkey burgers

Hey! Slim told me about this forum the other day....looks really cool!
Anyway, I took my parents to a Drs. appointment and stopped at Frisch's Big Boy on the way home. Since I wanted something "lean" for lunch (trying to get off some of this flab...ugh ) , I tried their Turkey Burger....it really was quite yummy.
So, I'd like to make Turkey burgers and wonder if anyone has made them and what spices were used. I'll probably grill them on "The George" (I have a George Foreman grill which I use quite a bit). My burger had a little bit of a "sausage-y" taste to it, BTW.
    Thanks!

I can only handle ground turkey if it's spiced up the wazoo. I do not like a plain turkey burger. I suspect that if I was to try one I would have to hit it with a bunch of flavor...chili powder, paprika, oregano, sage...

Kiki, my husband loves the salmon and the mushroom burgers from Frisch's. I'm perfectly happy with the turkey wrap. You know what, we were both probably up at MFF today at the same time and didn't know it. We're there every M,W and F. Glad to hear that your mom and dad had good appointments today. =) See you next Friday!

I've never had a Turkey Burger and I'm not sure how much prep you want to put into it, but this caused quite a stir and is suppose to be incredible.

P.S. although this is served at Mar-a-Lago, you probably shouldn't let anyone on this forum know that it has anything to do with Donald Trump. (at the time he had never had it either)

We were at the Medical Building today...that's where their Primary Care Dr. is housed. Mom had the salmon burger today and really liked it. I was pleasantly surprised by the turkey burger. Like I said, it had a a "sausage taste" to it....I'm wondering if it didn't have sage in it, since isn't that one of the spices in sausage? The roumalade sauce sauce was tasty on both. I've had their wraps....yummy, also

Thanks, Snow61 I'll take a peek at the recipe you posted.

I bought turkey burgers under the assumption they were healthier.......then I looked at the cholesterol. I do better with lean hamburger, though my preference is buffalo, than turkey burgers. With the skin ground in the cholesterol is over 22%. Read the label, or the nutritional value if you are at a restaurant, providing your area has made this mandatory by law. I was rather stunned, which is why I switched to buffalo. I've ordered from buffalogal.com (they also have elk, boar, highlander etc) in case there are no buffalo farms near you, but the turkey burger was a downer after reading the label. They have taste because they are loaded with fat, not really "lean".

The wife tries to get me to eat less unhealthy when she can by substituting ground turkey for ground beef. I can barely tell the difference when she uses turkey instead of beef for tacos or spaghetti sauce
Im thinking the trick is surrounding it with lots of other yummy ingredients cuz we've tried making turkey burgers and they kinda suck

It sounds like the trick is in the seasoning, when making turkey burgers. I might get some ground turkey and maybe add some sage, thyme, salt, pepper....and if anyone else has a suggestion for additional seasonings, let me know
