    Dumbest Ad Campaign Ever

It may just be me, but why are Helmans and Miracle Whip trying to advertise mayonaese (sp?) like it is a trendy beer. You watch the commercial will all of these ultra cool, 20 somethings, and then your realize this is for Miracle Whip.

I now find myself in the store saying that I am not cool enough for Miracle Whip now.

Miracle Whip isn't mayonnaise. It's a white goo, but otherwise entirely unlike mayo.

My theory on advertising is that the more something is advertised either the less you need it, that there's little to distinguish it from its competition, or both.

You really think that's dumber than "We all have to go... so enjoy the go" thanks to Charmin Ultra Soft??

However there was a funny bit on Jon Stewart last night... they were covering the Ames Iowa straw poll at the Iowa state fair and they highlighted the new Fair snack fare, deep fried butter on a stick.

The Daily show's "State Fair corespondent expert" was shown eating raw butter on a stick after he dipped it in Mayo... when asked why his wasn't fried he reported that his doctor wanted him to cut down on fried foods.

Even worse was one of the other reporters who was eating some of Santorum's Homemade Jelly being given out at Rick Santorum's tent and then reporting that is was more frothy than he liked his jelly and that it smelled of ass.

Michele Bachmann's tent was the best though it had Chairs and Randy Travis plus A/C and a petting zoo for the kids. Only thing funny about that was that the Chairs were getting top billing over Randy Travis. Apparently Iowans while they like Randy Travis like to rest their asses even more.

I avoid Dairy Queen at all costs due to their new ad campaign.

Guess that means the makers of Coca-Cola and Pepsi have been pretty desperate all these years...

Technically, the purpose of advertising is to create and/or sustain awareness that your product exists and has value. How it does so is up to the advertiser.
