Sammy Smith's is the beer of choice for trustafarians.

And people who secretly wish they were British, and that it was 1910.

I've missed it the last couple of years, but yeah, I used to go. It's a blast! And the sausages are delicious.

It's a quirky British brewery. They make things like taddy porter and oatmeal stout. Very old-school.

They also have pretty distinctive bottles. I can identify a Smith bottle from far down the aisle. The labels stand out.

I see. No wonder I've never heard of them.
More Ovals and Road Courses. Less Street Races.

Haven't been much of a beer drinker since college. I was working on a problem, so I just cut it out almost all together. Occasionally I like to have a Yuengling light draught. We don't have that in many restaurants here, and it's not the same when you get it from the store in a bottle. I don't have many Yuengling, but I seriously enjoy the ones that I do.

As American draught beer goes, it's pretty damn good.

I have to agree with you guys about Yeungling, it's very good beer. I don't often get it on draft,, or even in a bottle here in the suburbs of Houston, but It's always a treat.

Its the last race of the 2011 season and the last race for the current Dallara.

So at what time today is appropriate to have that first beer to toast the end the season and to looking forward to the next?

I will be enjoying an Emmerson Fittipaldi or Rocky Patel 1990 cigar at the Speedway next year in honor of Dan.

For All of you Cigar guys who come to Texas in 2012 I make this offer:

Contact me the weekend of the race and I'll put together a little meeting at a fine little Cigar Bar in Denton on Friday night. It's not a fancy place, they only serve beer and wine (sorry scotch guys), and one of the owners is a BIG race fan. I'll supply the first 4 people with either a good Padron, CAO Brazilia, Rocky Patel, or Camacho. Everybody else settles for a La Vieja Habana or buys their own.
