It was an awesome race with a fairy tail ending very happy for ED and SFR...
I hate it when people compare Senna with god . . . I mean he is okay, but come on he isn't Senna. . .
Is anyone else still having palpitations, or is it just me?

Was a good race with a great finish. Ed was clearly the fan's favorite. Not unlike the press box at Daytona following the feel good win by Trevor Bayne, the normally reserved crowd of media types erupted in applause, shouts of joy, and high fives. Many had seen Ed scored as runner up the last two years and they just let loose this afternoon.![]()
my hands were shaking for about 10 minutes after the finish.

Hell of a race.

I thought my heart was going to come out of my chest those last ten laps - haven't had an experience like that since Sam won Indy in 2006. It was a beautiful day, got to spend it at the racetrack with my two adult kids. Our schedules don't coincide much, so it was a very special experience - and since we have screamed ourselves hoarse for Ed at Kentucky before, it was doubly special. The crowd reaction to Ed's win could only be described as joyous!
PS - just found Hurley's Wurld - what a great idea! So nice to find a place to celebrate the good things in racing and IndyCar!![]()

Posted this on the mutha ship, but I had to share the Dixon quote again.
Same here. Here's a good quote from Scott Dixon who had the best seat and the house and also appreciated what Sarah and Ed have accomplished.
Finishing third eliminated Scott Dixon from title contention, but he still liked what he saw as Carpenter and Franchitti dueled side-by-side for the final 19 laps.
"I actually thought Dario had won it, but I think it's really cool for Ed and Sarah," he said. "It shows you that the little teams with a bit of might can bring it through."![]()
The only excitement I felt was for the winner. Bungee Cord racing doesn't do it for me.
More Ovals and Road Courses. Less Street Races.
That's not nearly happy enough for this thread.
Sitting in the stands, it was excellent. So much back-and-forth, especially through the Top 10. Guys like Carp, Briscoe, RHR, Hinch, Dixie, and Cunningham were really mixing it up. It was exactly the sort of fight I wanted to see.
This type of racing doesn't excite me. Even with P2P Ed could barely get around Dario when Dario was out of P2P. I wanted to see the driver become more of a factor. I don't want the engineer and the set-up to be the one thing to determine the winner. I want to see if a driver can handle an ill-handling car and go forward in the field. NASCAR driver seems to be able to do it. Why cant IICS let that happen in this series?
I'm glad this type of racing excites you but it looks like a majority of fans don't hence why we are only going to have 5 ovals next year. I'm not an oval hater, I want a good balance of ovals and RC/SC. I want to driver to be a big factor in who's going to win the race.
I am happy, spent a glorious fall day at a race track with my 80yo father and saw one of 'our' drivers win. Plus USAC sprints at Lawrenceburg the night before, couldn't make me any happier!!
I was traveling Sunday, so had to DVR the race. Finally got to watch it last night. I was jumping up and down during those last laps. Awesome race.
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be misquoted and used against you.
Agree I had to watch the race later on DVR and happened to see who won by another title of a thread in the main forum. Still every bit as exciting for me as if I watched it live. Having been to Kentucky I feel like the racing is better in person than it shows on TV. That said, something must be done to allow faster cars to get around slower cars (as I agree that Ed was barely able to nose ahead once Dario was out of P2P). The races have to be compelling (IMHO) at both the track and on tv.
Perfect weather, great track and amazing finish. I was on the edge of my bleacher from the restart on. I can't attest to what degree of skill it took for Dario and Ed to race side by side for multiple laps but I'm pretty sure that it's not like racing a radio controlled slot car around a track. Well done to both. That was awesome. As a side note, once I got out of the parking lot, I had no issues making the trek back home.
