Why Has Indy Car Not Released Any Video Footage Of New Car? (They have)

Why has Indy Car not put out some video of the new car testing? Something, anything! There is plenty of photos, there is plenty of discussion coming out of Indy Car but no video. Why not???

They hate muppets. Besides, I'm pretty sure I saw some footage on the VS pre-race show for Kentucky.

Tried to embed the video. Apparently, it's not as simple as it should be. Or it is and I'm making it more difficult than it is.

Because the new car is actually dog slow and they don't want everyone to be dissapointed.

/Gack moment. There is footage from the IMS test floating around. There is some from indycar officially and some that they released to a press... I think it was Racer? There was some running on the VS PreRace IIRC

I would like to interject something that maybe some of you don't realize... the 2011 season isn't over yet!!! Why would the Series invest a lot of time promoting next year's product when they have have this year's product to sell? This season is shaping up to be one of the best. We have two excellent battles for the title... Season Champion and Rookie of the Year. We have the highest car count EVER for a non-Indy 500 event, and we have compelling story lines... Ed and SFR's first win, Dan Wheldon's second Indy victory, etc. Let's enjoy the end of this season first.
INDYCAR... Home of the BEST RACING on the planet!

These days, I think this model (leave people to search for leaks, personal videos, etc.) may actually be better at building up excitement.

Even the weird bumper looks kind of cool at speed. I just hope there's 24 of them on track at St. Pete or wherever the opener is.

    Why's it going clockwise?
Reason is not automatic. Those who do not believe in it cannot be conquered by it. And, the trouble with being punctual is that there is nobody there to appreciate it.

Because that test was done using the road course (roval) at IMS.

Nice video jughead! I think it highlights the need for more manufacturers. Notice the voice in the background calling out the mph avg. lap times. It reminds me of times when we had multiple manufacturers. It gets me excited to think about it. How cool would it be to have a year end test like this where all of the manufacturers could show up and test their stuff? Then there would be people out there talking about the different chassis and engines and who had the best stuff heading into next season.
Sometimes 1st place is the first loser.

The engineers wanted to test the up-force?

The driver thought he was in Australia?

So is that all we've got? About 30 seconds of actual new car footage? That is pretty sad. It's been out testing now for how long? The Indy road course, the oval, at Iowa and weren't they someplace else, reagrdless, at least three separate venues, and all we have is a tiny snippet of a car rolling along not doing anything that stirs the emotions! Absolutely brilliant!

I think its because everyone has just kind of given up. Major League Soccer is taking over and IndyCar is throwing in the towel.

Anyone else catch the little bit thrown towards standing starts??? I'm excited about that.

I'm getting more and more excited about next season already and this one isn't even done.

Hopefully in 2012 the other aero kit manufacturers can make the car look sexy instead of the bloated fish that it is now.

Digging up the video that aired for like 30 minutes before the Kentucky race? Sure was hidden away in some secret vault...

    Thread is awful.
