I'd be happy with the look if they made the sidepods look more traditional. They make me think of a sidecar or something: http://www.wallaceracing.co.uk/image.../rww4small.jpg
Honestly that's a really flattering image of the Dw12. The more I see the new car, the more I like it. Turns out Penske DID alter the paint scheme to make the nose number like it was last season and make the numbers on the rear wing endplates white with a red trim. Not as bad as I thought it would look, definitely looks much sweeter on track.

That Verizon logo on the sidepods is MASSIVE though. It's almost too big.. and his Chevy bowtie is in a rather strange spot on the nose, I'm surprised it isn't in the more visible area underneath the number on the nose. But, if those are the only things I can find to complain about on Penske's cars this season, that's a good sign.

Really digging the look of this new car.

I think you're right. I've just noticed "Venom Energy" embroidered on Hinch's left sleeve on the new suit. As much as I'd love to see the Venom Energy car back on track again (a seriously SWEET-looking car no matter the chassis it's on), I hope they don't do the TCGR thing and have a different primary sponsor every other race, that gets kind of annoying..

    (1) IMO, NOT too big at all... it angles up slightly to miss the sponsor blockers.

    (2) The Chevy Bowtie looks like its positioned for in-car camera views... more TV viewers than eyeballs @the individual race tracks

As a person who outright hated this car at first, I must say it has really grown on me and these liveries make it look amazing.

Dario's is the only one I find a bit bland. Other than that, they look all look amazing.

Charlie's has a kind of cool 60's retro thing to it.

They are still partners with the Intercontinental there, so no surprise.

We modified our 2011 car so that we could simulate pit stop practice a little more accurately on the new DW12 for the rear tire guys.

I also noticed that the rear wing on the Ganassis have a centered Gurney flap that is taller than the rest of the wing. The flap doesn't run the entire width. Also interesting. The Verizon car doesn't have that.

Ok, so does this car mean we get Guerierri instead of barrichello, or has he found himself another team, or is KV going to 4 cars?????? This is all really confusing right now!!!

  15. #885
nevvermind. I see the KV racing synmbol on the nose. So that only leaves the 4 car option, or the barrichello isn't racing option. Or maybe this is just a sponsor proposal???? IDK what this means at all.

KV will run as many drivers as will pay them.

  17. #887
Well to be honest, Guerrieri was very good in Lights last year and should be better than Viso. Barrichello would obviously be huge.....This could be a great tem + Viso next year.

Was still using it in renderings as of end of last week, but that doesn't really mean much.

Pretty sure that's an ex Ganassi Daytona Prototype bumper.

Ok a few things here. Clearly SFHR is dedicated. They aren't wasting time while waiting for an engine. Second if that is a rear from a TCGR DP then how did they get it? A gift from a Honda team? maybe to help them out for making them wait so long for an engine?

Maybe they called TCGR up and asked to borrow it?

Lots of red DP bodywork (so is it Ganassi's?) & Grand Am has new aero kits for their protos... lots of useless spares sitting around for an Indianapolis neighbor to snap up.

99% sure they bolted it on to practice pitstops to simulate the issues rear tire changers now have to deal with.

That's exactly why they did it. The rear tire changers before could just swing the tire around and throw it on but now they have to come straight in with the tire or they will damage the car.

It can be the "don't cry for me, Argentina" car. Nice livery, hate these sponsors! Reminds me of the "visit mexico city....bring random $" car from a few years back
