It's a sponsor pumping cash into an indycar team. If you want to support them, book a trip. I think what you are really objecting to is it's a foreign government sponsoring a foreign driver you perceive as an undeserving ride buyer. I've got more issue with a sponsor like The National Guard spending my federal tax dollars on sports sponsorship activities to be honest. When was the last time the national guard car had an American driver?

The American National Guard Indycar driver is entering his 2nd season in 2012 & has also supported Dale Jr. + Jeff Gordon in NASCAR.

    All of last season
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security

Nothing new on liveres, but Indycar.com has confirmed some car numbers for us. they've got Sato in the 15, Bourdais in the 8, and Viso continuing with the 59.

It also has Oriol Servia as #2, which is clearly wrong. So I don't know how much I'd put into it saying Viso staying as #59, it seems like he likes to change numbers every year just for the heck of it.

Not a surprise... Sato's main sponsors have been Panasonic & Honda, BOTH using blue as their main corporate colors.

Ha! Actually it was a joke....but jokes are funniest if readable

Was supposed to say "bring ransom money"

It's a recruiting tool, and a properly run sports sponsorship is more valuable than the equivalent amount of money spent on TV advertising and other 'normal' marketing.

And uhm, The Guard has had an American driver last season and this...

The teams, not the drivers, selct or are assigned numbers. Historically D&RR has been using these numbers: #22, #23, #24. I expect Servia will be #22, and the error is in the editing of the list.

    Yup, same pic.
Question for noobies to IC only: What are the yellow "wires" coming out of the front of the car.

Delete your post, your not a noob. Seriously, I want to hear some answers from the new to IC crowd.
Trev, I know. I just wanted to hear some guesses from new folks.

Seems obvious that those are wheel tethers, so I'm sure they're not.

Disappointed with that "hand-me-down" IZOD livery... was hoping for more than just a number change.

Great, glad you like it, but to my eye it looks like Penske recycled their old 2009-2011 paint masks/wrap files.

Only the Verizon car looks bold...sad for a team that used to showcase iconic team liveries.
